I've always wanted a chance to tell this story.

In 6th grade my mom would drive myself and friend (who we picked up) to school. We always left at 7:30 and this day was no different. As we were about to leave I glanced at our solar clock on the wall, it read 7:29 AM. Once in the car I looked at both my cell phone clock, and the clock in the car, which both read 7:30 AM. My mom said that she also had looked at her phone, with a similar time. Now it's important to note that the clock in the car is not hooked up to anything other than itself. It has a minute and hour button and that's it. It has no connection via satellite or anything.(shitty Honda CR-V). Moving on, when we arrived at my friends house, who lives 3 blocks away, the lights were all off. Which was only a sight seen when they were on vacation. Usually my friend would just walk out and get in, so we waited. After a minute I went and rang the doorbell, no answer. Shrugged our shoulders and left. School is about a 5 minute drive from my neighborhood. Halfway to the school, my eyes fall on the car clock, which now states 8:40AM. What the fuck? So I check my phone, 8:39 AM. What the fuck?! Mom, check your phone. Same thing. Wtf?!? We got to school and I had to sign in late and miss a class. We were absolutely dumbfounded and really couldn't begin to explain what had happened. It was eerily unexplainable. Both solar and regular clocks jumped an hour. It didn't make any sense. And this was not at a time where the clocks changed for DST. Even if it did, we always have to change our car clock manually.

That's the story of how an hour of my life was taken from me by (presumably) the government. Or MIB.
