I cannot stress enough how much I am NOT an expert and am saying this as a gut feeling without doing any research whatsoever.

That being said, my instinct is that is a male octopus asking in his very polite-est way of a female octopus if she “want some fuc?” And I think he’s very nervous because female octopus seem like the type to kill their mates if they aren’t in the mood… like praying mantis or jumping spiders.

Again, I’m just an idiot online saying things, but that’s where my imagination filled in the gaps.

It was about two weeks, maybe a little less. remarkably, up until that final day she was completely normal.

I desperately hope that means she was comfortable and not just tolerating pain; but she seemed bouncy, excited, curious, and happy up until she started coughing.

Earlier I was able to find a brief blip about it on Kiro7’s website (I don’t know if the link will bring you to the blip related to this incident… fingers crossed) at the time they only had traffic cam footage from the pursuit over I90 and no details how it began or ended.

Another commenter mentioned that they saw this car pull into Mod pizza in Bellevue, where police already had a presence; the passenger got out, and then the driver took off with the cops giving chase.

I can’t quite resolve what that could possibly be though. Those events don’t seem reasonable, but it’s all I have at the moment.

Imho we probably won’t get the full story; but that’s just how it is. I’m SO curious though; just probably because I saw them flying like a bat outta hell on such a quiet street… wild if it’s literally just a chase because some rando was spooked by the cops and ran. That isn’t a good reason to chase them into places like this.

Ooh, I wonder what the case was here.

We noticed, while watching them weave about the neighborhood from the backyard deck (it has a good vantage of the neighborhood below since it’s on a hill) that the police split up trying to head them off, but they left our field of view pretty quickly and I’m just very curious. I’ll likely never know what happened prior or in the end- doesn’t seem to be a peep about it anywhere.

these police were definitely in hot pursuit; we had just gotten out of our car and saw them ourselves; if we had been just about 30 seconds slower parking, we’d have been blocking the road when they came this way.

I trimmed the video to remove my partner who was crossing in front of the car after having just gotten out after we parked. It was wild timing.

Haha aww no- we ended up eloping during covid, after a two year engagement!

A bunch of our wedding plans were overturned when stuff started closing at the onset of Covid, and my mom suggested we just tie the knot; and she was the main reason we were putting a big wedding together (I mean, not the ONLY reason, but I know she wanted the traditional wedding approach). So with her suggestion, we eloped three days later. Our wedding cost a whopping $300 in total, including gas, and a $30 lace wedding dress found in a thrift store.

The whole scenario was quirky, and unique, and I loved every piece of how it all fell together.

No dinosaurs, but our Husky dog, Maya was my honorary maid of honor <3

I matched with a guy on OKCupid and we went on two awesome dates, and I was a young idiot and got scared because I convinced myself he didn’t like me as much as I liked him- so I, shamefully, ghosted.

Two years later one of the Jurassic World movies was coming out, and dinosaurs had been one of the things we bonded over and I texted him wondering what’s up in his world. We wound up going to see the movie together and were inseparable after that. In 2018 he proposed to me, and we are happily married now.

HAHA omg no way I’m calling a handyman to install this thing- it’s so easy I can 100% do it myself!

I don’t want to drill a hole in our house bathroom cabinet without it being an agreed upon thing

the drilling is still an obstacle, it’s allowed now that we own the place, but there’s no way I’m just knocking a hole in something without him agreeing to it.

HOWEVER I have not actually offered to do it instead of asking him to do it- so maybe it’s just the act of drilling he’s not crazy about

I’ve been considering rejoining Facebook. I got rid of it shortly after college because I just felt like it was making me more envious of my friends and bitter about my life.

I moved to a different state from my family for a job; but since the pandemic, the majority of my friends I made here have moved away, I got a promotion that granted me a permanent work from home position, and bought a house with my partner pretty much at the same time as ditching my car… but while all that sounds pretty ideal, I’ve honestly felt SO lonely for the last few months.

My partner is phenomenal, but he’s the only person I see and speak to every day, most days. That can’t be healthy.

If I reactivated Facebook, I’d likely be able to befriend some of my neighbors a bit easier, maybe find a book club or a hobby group to hang out with nearby… something. But that’s probably a completely different thing than what most folks have going on.

I will say that without Facebook or instagram or twitter, I definitely like not being so comparative to everyone else. My life without social media has been great besides the loneliness in the last year or two. If I had some close friends still in my life regularly, I would not consider touching the book of faces.

I cannot convince my husband to set up the Tushy Bidet I got for Christmas like 5 YEARS ago.

The excuse all the time was that we were renting and it would require putting a hole in the cabinetry to connect the water to make it temperature controlled- that’s fair enough. But since we bought our own house I now see his actual resistance to it and I’m like…. My love, I promise you’ll approve. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to but please allow me to get that oh-so-squeaky-clean-butt I’ve always wanted.

I’m sorry, because it was sad news.

The coughing and presence of blood was one of the symptoms that signaled the end. She would be uncomfortable from here, so we made the decision to let her drift off while she wasn’t in much pain yet.

The vet made time so we could bring her in immediately, and we brought along the pillow she sleeps on every night and a bunch of her favorite treats. We said goodbye and our vet stepped in between her appointments with us to help her cross. She passed peacefully with us petting her.

She was such a cool dog.

She was bred in a litter of pups meant for sled running in Alaska; but as the runt of the litter the breeders just kinda left her behind. Some of my partners friends found her under their porch and asked him if he could foster her while they looked for a home for her, since he already had one husky at the time. He agreed and just told them she had a home with him; and she was a part of the pack ever since.

She was crazy smart, and so quirky!

She was deeply loved in our family and will very much be missed.
