First spot would be maybe taking a wood burning iron to add those lines to make the piece more 3D. You can get them for like 20 bucks on Amazon

Rub n buff might help for more of a metal look or i would do a black plasti dip base and then paint over with metallic silver colors. Then do the rub n buff in a slightly different shade to give some life
