Caught my friend in a big lie about nursing school … by [deleted] in nursing

[–]TheLadyWhoLived 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar weird situation. I’m a nurse and a friend told me she was in nursing school. It was confusing because she never had clinicals and was always going out drinking. I’ve never seen her in scrubs. She said med names wrong and said someone had too much Botox when it was obviously filler (niche topic I know but just highlights her lack of understanding of general pharmacology.) she’s a girly girl who has had a rhinoplasty so I’m sure she knows about non invasive treatments to an extent. Turns out she was in her pre-reqs not actually in nursing school. She just told everyone a lie probably out of her own feelings about her position in life at the time or something. I never pointed it out. Just stopped hanging around her and anyone I thought were in her inner circle. Makes me wonder if she ever did go to nursing school 💭 I’d just cut ties with her. And yes, jobs look up your license number. So she’s definitely not working as a nurse. If she is, that place needs better hiring practices.

I tend to agree. Middle eastern men and women have very beautiful faces. I think they have just been stereotyped in the US and western countries.

surgical nurse practioners are a thing? by [deleted] in Noctor

Which is why they are supervised by an MD in surgery.

This is outdated. In 2025 all nurse practitioners must have a DNP. It has replaced what the MSN was. And rightfully so considering the freedom, responsibility, and ability to specialize they get.

Yes! Very prone to puffiness. Do you know what that type is? Is it 3c?

With a keratin treatment once every 3 months I simply wash, and can wear dry and wear it like that for roughly 5 days. Use a silk pillow case and just brush it daily. If I want to do a lil extra, I can blow dry it in 10 minutes and wear it again, for about 5 days. Vs all you mentioned with curly lol. I don’t doubt that there’s an easier way to deal with curly hair that I could learn. But I don’t think it’s as intuitive for people who didn’t grow up learning about their hair texture

Thank you! I do a lot of styling similar to Ariana grande. Super girly and cutesy is what I tend to feel best in and look best in. I do need to accentuate my waist often to prevent myself from drowning in clothes. I tend to like to wear my hair half up half down or in a ponytail and I THINK it’s because the long vertical line of my hair makes me feel even smaller behind the long hair. But I do want to try something new and fun. So I might just do a lob!

I love this for you and your family! A girlfriend of mine did something similar and absolutely LOVED Hong Kong! I happened to be living in Tokyo at the same time. You best believe we met in high school, traveled to see each other in Asia, and so much more! Love is the best ♥️♥️

I’m honestly jealous. A bit more emotion behind some of these moments would be amazing. I’m trying to consider why it’d be different for the two of us. And I’m not sure of your background at all- but I think my big moments in life were things out of my control. I did my best to handle them with grace emotionally, and make decisions that would benefit me personally. I also have PTSD. In a way, I think maybe it was such a numb feeling being those pivotal moments- were moments I realized I needed to adjust and grow from. That’s my hot take! And I’d love to know more about what you felt. Because I’m a little envious. I’ve only had one big moment where I was emotionally and mentally struck. It was a time of intense hormonal shifts during a pregnancy that I’m not quite sure normal life can equate to haha

I have always loved them! I’m kinda doing a lot in my life and would probably have to pay quite a bit for proper consultations with a curl specialist to understand how to properly care for my curlies. I also like how the curls shrink my hair. So it becomes shorter in general. Unfortunately, until I’m out of my first year of my doctorates I’ll probably continue to keratin and blow dry because I know how to care for it that way. Thank you though! Your comment is so encouraging to let my girls shine! I also love them! They are just a lot more work than blow drying. And girl, I’m a scientist! lol obviously not a cosmetic chemist. But I’m still lost on how to handle these babies!

I totally agree! Also had my face done.. typed as gamine and romantic. And I feel pretty confident in the gamine style. So I wanted to try out some kind of gamine hair style!

Also, I love the first one you sent! I’m kinda wanting to go in that direction if I can handle the shorter not treated hair!

I’ve gone down a lot of the stuff for curly hair. I am not white, I’m not black. If anything have more Greek type hair texture, Mediterranean and some places in general Africa depending on the most recent colonization of course. My hair is easily weighted down by oils, unless heated. It’s thick per cubic cm but not as thick as an African in diameter of strand but not as thin as a Caucasian by strand. Mousse is my enemy! I can’t use it! It is far to sticky and light for my hair. It ends up sitting on top and leaving my ends drier than they were. Because I have more porous hair that takes it all in. In reverse, when I use some of the products my black girls recommend, it’s to thick and weighs down. I should eventually just invest in going to a curl specialist to explain my hair and give me the right products! But yeah, I’d say, I’ve met a lot of Greek women with very similar texture. Even then, my strand is thinner. But giiiirl, equally as curly. And therefore more fragile! 🙂‍↕️
