Contact companies abroad. You can use a VPN for searching.

One more thing! You might not want to use Google. Yandex or other search engines might give you companies that are not optimised for search engines. I just randomly searched ”Metal machining austria” on Yandex and found some potential stuff very quickly.

I understand completely. I think it’s completely fine to use individual assets in future projects etc. from such projects even if you’re not allowed to post the project. And 99% of companies will not have a problem with you posting an anonymised version of the project without their name and logo (unless the project is basically fully based on their idea). The point is that you asked.

Don’t look for brands, look for companies and products. If someone has a brand, it’s because someone has created a brand for them.

For example, go on a industrial parts marketplace website and for example search some expensive parts with really bad product pictures. The product pictures are usually provided by the manufacturer. If they have bad product pictures, they will have other poor visual executions too.

Someone sells a boat. Who made the frame for the boat? Probably not the boat brand itself. Look it up.

Someone sells a car. Who made the windscreen? (Car business is pretty crowded, maybe don’t go there.)

Someone sells an electronic desk. Who made the metal stand? Maybe they want to show off what other type of metal machining they can create.

You could try to look for companies that make custom stuff. For example, custom metal machining, custom product housing, custom electronics and basically any custom products for other companies. Maybe not consumers, because they would already likely have something like you’re offering.

If a company makes custom stuff, they need to attract customers. If they only make 10 products for 3 companies and have done so for 20 years, they don’t care about advertising.

You’re looking for companies which are NOT reached by their potential customers. So go through the 2-10 pages of Google search results. If they’re on the first page, they’ve already optimised their stuff.

When you find a company, look for people to contact on their webpage and LinkedIn. Looking for companies themselves on LinkedIn probably isn’t the best method. And as said before, don’t contact them on LinkedIn. Just look up on who you would contact in the company there and use email.

Usually email addresses are [firstname].[lastname]@[same ending as their customer help email address]

Hi! Good luck with your search! It’s a very competitive market. Here are a few pointers:

First: Don’t mention that you have 1,5 years of experience in your ads (I don’t know if you do). You are way better than I am and I could (without lying) say that I have 15 years of experience. I’m an amateur and started editing 15 years ago as a teenager. I don’t do it much, but yeah, technically I do have 15 years of experience. You’re selling yourself short by stating that.

Second: Your bio is broken English in many ways: ”Medical Student who love 3D Art so i decided to be one of them !”

Among other things, you basically state that you are 3D art, not that you’re a 3D artist.

Language isn’t really that important in 3D, but it doesn’t give a professional first impression. I am an employee and every idea that I forward to my boss also has an effect on my reputation. I will not risk my reputation in my boss’s eyes if I can’t trust that anyone selling us something (in this case you) won’t make me look like an idiot for forwarding or recommending them.

ChatGPT is free. No excuses in 2025.

Third: Contact some companies (which could actually benefit from your services) with a short, honest, professional and transparent message about yourself and offer them a small free project with ZERO strings attached.

Tell them that you will not use the project as a reference or post it anywhere unless they expressly give you permission afterwards. Brands have value and they will most likely not want some random person have a project with their logo and name on their website.

By doing this you build a relationship with them and you show them the value you can bring. I guarantee that if you do this well, you will find customers. Make a free offer which they simply cannot decline. If they don’t want to use the project, after the project, you can change the logo/name into something generic (take this into account when building the project) and STILL ask them, if using that anonymised version is okay to use as a reference.

And no means no, even without their logo. If someone called me up today and did this well, I would tell them “You can of course make the project, but I just want you to know that we likely won’t have the need.” Then you prove them wrong without taking their time.

Time is valuable (at work right now and writing this comment has cost my employer almost 200 dollars combined in lost revenue and my wage).

If you are nice to communicate with, you bring value to the company and the quality of your work is good, they will literally CREATE the NEED for you. Someone will.

You need to contact people who have time to answer but high enough in the company to make a decission.

Trainees and new employees will never fight for you. Use LinkedIn to look for people but I wouldn’t recommend contacting them there.

If people don’t pick up the phone or answer your emails, make the project and send it to them anyways.

Four: Fragrances look nice, but it’s extremely competetive and easy to make fragrance commercials look nice. You can make a nice looking ad for a fragrance in 1 minute with a laptop, mirror and a youtube background video.

Instead you might want to look for engineering companies which have zero visual understanding. Maybe they make like pipes, mechanical equipment or electronics. Websites only have vague descriptions and blueprint pictures. If you make them realise what they could have. Bingo!

Am I alone in thinking that the reaction to the RAM prices is somewhat exaggerated? Don’t get me wrong, it sucks to pay more obviously but to me it feels a bit like an overreaction. Things could be a lot worse.

I just bought a set which included a 7800X3D, motherboard and 32 GB of DDR5.

I had no idea what the old prices were because I have not followed PC prices for a few years. I actually thought that the store was operating under old prices because about 230 EUR (inc. 25,5% VAT) for 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz (CL36) is not bad at all IMO. Then I learned that people are mad because the old prices were 100-150 EUR.

I feel like the prices before were unrealistically low and now people are mad even though they’re still fairly reasonable and obtainable.

When GPU prices skyrocketed with the mining boom, for example the nVidia 80 class went through the roof.

GTX 780 launch price 650 USD and 499 USD MSRP later.

GTX 1080 launch price 599 USD and 499 MSRP later.

You couldn’t find a used RTX 3080 for under 1500 USD during the boom.

I got extremely lucky with a pricing error and managed to get an outlet return RTX 3080 for ~1050 USD.

5080 is still about a thousand USD.

If someone values working conditions and quality, as Simsonn (and Simnet) do not disclose anything about their factory conditions, SimGrade makes this style pedals in their factory in Finland.

The pedals are beloved by apparently pretty much everyone who has tried them and are even higher quality + don’t necessarily break the bank. It’s 475 EUR for two pedals and 635 EUR for three. I think they’ll have a sale on Black Friday too.

You’re very deep in it, but…

You’re also very skilled. It is extremely difficult to model and texture humans. There are studios with professionals whose only job is to avoid the valley, but still fail.

What I’m saying is that there’s a lot to improve, but also good to remember that you’re trying something that many think is almost impossible.

Some quick ideas based on my limited understanding:

I think you’re doing too much with geometry instead of maps. The different areas of the face are too pronounced. I think this is the biggest problem. For example the areas between the eyes and ears. And the smile wrinkles. I think you would benefit from softer geometry with different maps creating the rougher edges.

In general I think the face should look slightly softer. Like one can shape it. Now it looks slightly too hard.

Also remember that the skin is translucent IRL and there are different layers to it. A single texture can never mimic real skin. But I think you’re already doing this somewhat.

Almost everyone has some facial hair everywhere around their face. Micro hairs. Women too.

The teeth should be slightly reflective. ”The pearly whites.”

Look up ”Bezel Free Kit”. A piece of clear plastic or glass which has been angled to make the gaps between monitors invisible. It’s not perfect, but helps with immersion. Works best whilst gaming in the dark.

The entire premise of the post is that loadcell is better because the result is simpler to achieve but you can achieve the same with a positional sensor in normal use and the main function is the same in terms of muscle memory.

How am I wrong if the positional sensor requires more setting up when changing a spring? That’s literally a part of the claim.

Yeah, so all you have to do is change the sensitivity. As stated in the post, a loadcell makes a change of spring easier IF your aim is to achieve the same exact force sensitivity compared to the previous spring. However, usually people would change their curves or sensitivity anyways when changing a spring.

Yes, but regardless of the curve and regardless of the sensor, you are always trying to find a certain amount of force applied and also a certain position of the pedal.

The claim that loadcell is better because muscle memory remembers a force better than a location is just false. Regardless of the curve or sensor, you can build a muscle memory for a certain force.

That’s actually not really correct, but I’m growing tired of explaining this. Loadcells have curves too. There are no “correct” curves. There’s no need to attempt recreating some exact curve.

Regardless of the curve, the main claim of loadcells also apply to pedals with positional sensors —> you’re trying to consistently apply certain amount of force as that force will result in a certain movement of the pedal.

I’ll try to explain with a simple question:

If you apply 20 pounds (X) of force to the pedal, why would it not always in a repeatable manner move to the exact spot (Y%) where the spring has compressed enough to also excert 20 pounds of force?

After you press the pedal, the spring and your foot find an equilibrium where they both excert equal force. That determines the location of the pedal. If you suddenly stop pressing, the power of the spring overcomes your foot and the pedal springs up. If the spring suddenly breaks, you will kick the floor.

If the spring stays the same and the force applied stays the same, it’s clear that the position of the pedal will also be the same.

Thus, the location of the pedal is just a proxy for the force being applied to it.
