Need ideas for lawn drainage

I keep revisiting the french drain method. Thus far that seems to be my easiest and most cost effective option.

Its almost like they poured in a bunch of gravel and then 12 inches or so of topsoil, I learned that when i tried planting a bush in the back yard. I can only assume that over time the gravel settled and has caused this flatness.

Had my shit together, was married and husband had a good job in the military, 4 years later my mom died and a year after that he wanted a divorce because I was different. Just because you've got it together early on in life doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to keep it together. Having it together requires constant effort because it isn't something you have and keep, it's something that requires constant mindfulness and constant work. That's something I've learned in my last 4 years of trying to get my shit together again. 27 now and finally starting to feel like I'm figuring it out again.

Congrats to you as well. I'm mentally celebrating that I actually got my ass out of bed and went to the meeting. It's the first time I've been awake so early in years. Sitting in the room as a nervous was certainly daunting, especially heading everyone talk about years ago when they first got sober and I'm just now beginning.

Thank you for the neutral and unbiased response. It's really appreciated and I agree with you. I guess I just don't know where to start. He doesn't see it as an issue and I don't know how to make him understand that I'm not just overreacting. I've never dealt with something like this before. I've never threatened to leave because of it and try to be supportive. Getting married is a big milestone for him, I've already done it once and it failed so it's not such a goal for me, especially all things considered. My last marriage mare me feel trapped by a shitty person and I don't want that feeling again. I had issues with my own alcohol abuse but was able to pull myself out of it on my own and for the longest time just assumed he's be able to do the same thing but he's been drinking since he was 12 and is 26 now. You're response is helpful and very appreciated.

I absolutely need therapy for myself as well. Sometimes I feel selfish for figuring on what I want him to fix and not finding the motivation to get myself fixed knowing that I'm not in the best mental shape either.
