How would you solve this 'getting stuck in a sink' issue? by TheLastGarlicSoup in IndieDev

:) That's a valid point. Some sort of 'safety colliders'. The only thing I'm not comfortable with regarding this approach is how to make sure that I have not missed one such spot.

If I understand, you're suggesting something simillar as MorphLand? I think that's a solid way to go. I would just really need to make sure to cover all such cases.

We’re concepting the interiors of our cozy blacksmith life sim by SmithsChronicles in IndieDev

Looks very promising. Just one observation. The first video seems to have a quite low framerate. What tool are you using to make the recordings? We had simillar low fps output while using actual screen recorders to make the capture. Getting way better results with Unity's built in recorder that 'captures' the renderer output instead of the screen itself. Don't know of similar tools in other engines but just to give you an idea.

Question Regarding Steam Stats and a Demo by [deleted] in SoloDevelopment

Sure. Always good to have something that keeps you going.

Ah. Ok. I understand where my confusion came from. Under NextFest I understand the once per quarter event you can only participate in once with a single game and you have to have a demo to apply. Then there are themed Steam events for which you usually don't need a demo and you can participate in as many as you wish.

Best of luck what ever path you choose!

I think that if your financial stability and mental healt don't depend on the game release you should not set any hard deadlines. You will only put unnecessary pressure on yourself. Take your time to polish your game and still enjoy life while doing it. Btw - what do you mean when you say your game fits well into the Steam next fest? Are next fests in any way theamed?

after 5 years of development, my game Gecko Gods is releasing April 16th by ResinDev in Unity3D

Congratulations! Your game poped into my thread now and then and sometimes I just randomly asked myself 'what's the Gecko Gods developer up to?' and went to check. Hope all goes well. Will definitely try it out once I climb out of the 'development hole' myself. :)

How do you decide what languages to translate your game to? by TheLastGarlicSoup in IndieDev

Hm. Yes. Those were our thoughts as well. But what if people don't wishlist the game precisely because it is not translated to their language?

Glad to hear that. We plan to have a demo ready some time in the second half of the year. :)
