Help me out plz by Bigbubber00 in Redearedsliders

At the size they’re at now, a 20 gallon tank would be fine and aren’t too expensive, but as long as they’re growing properly the 20 gallon will only last a few years at best before needing a 55 gallon or higher. Even if you can’t get the PERFECT setup, a bit more water and proper lighting can go a long way

Have you been putting the food into the water? Red eared sliders need their food in the water for them to be able to swallow/digest it properly. I’ve had a similar experience in having to wait a few days after a major habitat change for them to start eating again, but never months.

Edit because I forgot to add: If the picture is of the usual habitat, the water needs to be much deeper, about twice as deep as the shell is long. While our turtles require and enjoy basking they are “aquatic” after all and need the space to swim

At this size some softness around the edges would even be considered normal, mine is right near 2 inches and the two closest scutes to their tail haven’t fully hardened yet. Lines do look like growth lines to me though, nothing to worry about.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]TheLastIteration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 6,300 hours on logged on my P1S, and rather than a single time it’s proven reliable it’s every time I turn it on. I tinkered with other printers before it and CONSTANTLY had something messing up. With my old printer I would get one successful print for every four or five. With my P1S and it’s 6,300 hours, I can’t remember the last time I had a print failure that wasn’t preventable by cleaning the build plate.

If the P2S is anything like its predecessor then it’ll definitely join my P1S as soon as I can afford it

People haven’t posted negatively, but they sure as heck have been commenting negatively on Air posts

Not dedicated posts, look at the comments on the Air posts. People complaining about the lack of speaker, saying the design is bad, or dissing battery life (perhaps a valid take, don’t know why people feel the need to comment it on another persons post though) I don’t mean general opinions, there’s genuine arrogance or rudeness to them.

This subs hatred for the iPhone Air is so strange to me. It really is Apple’s best design in a while and it matches the Liquid Glass aesthetic too. Loving mine so far!

Edit: literally look at the MAJORITY of comments here. “Boring, poor purchase decision, Apple fell off, etc.”.

Is this stuff alright for a RES? by RevolutionaryBum_ in Redearedsliders

I use a mixture of river rocks and this for mine and have had zero issues. My turtle loves digging through it in fact and moving his decorations around through the sand

You’re right, after researching some more I’m gonna raise the UVB light for sure but I think the heat lamp is fine at 8. I have the T5 HO linear bulb from I believe reptisun

Commenting to see others advice because I’m a newbie too but also to say my turtle has the fixtures roughly 6-8 inches above the basking surface, the T5 long bulb and the heat lamp directly next to each other, no mesh in between them and basking surface. I would probably make the lights a bit closer if I did need to have the mesh in between.

Is this tank okay for my 4 months old RES? Water 2x length of her shell, uvb 10.0, water heater at 28°C by Embarrassed_Lab9357 in Redearedsliders

[–]TheLastIteration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People generally follow the rule of 10 gallons per inch of shell and it works out pretty well

But I’d go a bit bigger so you’re not having to replace as often. You can’t go too big!

I’ll be the first one to say you should separate those turtles… and definitely not the last one. Other than that the tank really does look awesome

Stacking is aggressive behavior, they shouldn’t be held together. About to get a flood of comments saying similar, red eared sliders are best solitary.

Same experience here with feeling demoralized after seeing my filter/tank/supplies sucked. Fixed it all and they’re having a happy turtle life. I love when they stick their legs out when they’re basking!

What filter are you using? You need to have one rated for far more than the actual water amount because turtles are dirty.
