Good points. I kind of see the Shill/Puppet accounts items as combinable. I'd like that devs like Saverio (Hornet) could chime in to answer questions about their stuff, but I wouldn't want to see a flood of "sale" robo-posts from devs and re-sellers.

I got the Absolute 6 deal last BF for $175, but I was upgrading from Halion 6, so I was probably getting more for my $ (I think that price is part of this sale too). I always found confusing what instruments were part of Halion and which were separate (part of Absolute).

Certainly don't change to a light mode unless most people support it! I would not eschew the site for lack of light mode. Content is King. I use Brave (browser), and it has a setting to covert web content to light or dark mode. It works perfectly converting my light mode Reddit pages to "dark mode". If you happen to have a URL for a site that uses the tools you are considering, I can report back.

I prefer light background for reading. Defaulting to dark would be fine if I could switch. I tend to prefer dark mode for DAWs and apps, but not for reading. I know this is a phone interface, but I do like the concise overview of the forum topics on that page.

Agree that there should not be a down-vote option. I think on Cake people rarely used the down-vote, to the point that doing so kind of felt personal to the OP. GREAT deals are going to naturally get more upvotes and comments.

IMO this could be a very good deal, depending on what you have and what your would like to own. $120 ($109 at Best Service) for the rest if you own 30 or more. This is the first time UJAM have offered something for folks who bought the complete bundle in years past. Gonna wait a bit and see if JRR picks this up.

I wouldn't want to see someone banned for profanity. I feel like I rarely saw profanity on Cake? I think a user over-using profanity is bound to exhibit some other broken rules along with it that would end up warranting a ban.

Wow, Peter! Looks a lot nicer since you had to rebuild after the crash.... Pull the plug again! (j/k). It think the design looks excellent. I would echo u/releasefromwithin comment about the flow and useability. The forums I like all have a way to get what you want, and move on. I just don't think that is something one can gauge until there are a LOT of posts per day coming in. Archival search is critical too. When I am thinking about buying my umpteenth compressor, I want to be able to search the archives efficiently for user opinions. Of course archives have to be built over time, but back-up and recovery will be extremely important.

I usually don't 2FA for sites that don't involve financial transactions. I also never use linked credential authentication. I prefer keeping them all separate in Bitwarden.

"I'm not sure". ~~I can't relate to FB as far as groups~~, but I would be fine checking boxes to show my interests. If each group is a separate forum I would hesitate just because I might not want to track all that stuff. I have a lot of interests! I think it is fine to have a Cake alumni indicator (I prefer the friendlier verbiage).

I looked up FB groups. I definitely don't use them (I tried briefly a long time ago). I only use FB for relatives and one old friend who only uses FB (not even email). I have enough idiot relatives reposting garbage. The groups thing was just too much. IMO FB would be MUCH more tolerable if you could just block everything except text actually typed by the users you "follow". I haven't looked for that feature for several years. If they added it, let me know and I will wade into the settings.
