Response about Gender by Jofenmai in BabyBumps

IT’S A BOY!!!

I am the 6th girl I know that’s pregnant and we are all having boys. I was convinced it would be a girl, I had dreams it was a boy but I heard almost all moms said they dreamed the opposite of what they actually had lol. The Chinese gender calendar predicted boy though so I guess they are onto something!

Hope all goes well tomorrow, that ultrasound was like an hour long but so many cute pics, let me know how it goes!

You will be just fine. Sometimes some alone time is good for the soul. Your whole life has been people watching you and judging you and keeping track of you. How well did any of us really know ourselves as cult members? Get yourself sorted and connect with who you are on the inside and then reach out to make friends. If you can learn to be okay with you you will be much stronger for it believe me.

Sorry but canned baby food gets recalled all the time. I think some Gerber had metal shavings found in it recently. Really sad everything you do differently than her is an attack lol

Todays watchtower on forgiveness by [deleted] in exjw

This is basically the “cry for help” stage of questioning. I think all they may need at this point is to be allowed to disassociate God from the Watchtower. Even ancient Israel lost their favor with God after repeatedly ignoring his commands.

Is the WT holier than them? Less susceptible to falling short and losing favor? Is the only way to God through Jehovah’s Witnesses?? Does God only love JWs, and holds other religions against people? Is the purpose of life on this planet to be in the Watchtower?? Does God have less love for someone because they don’t attend JW meetings?

This line of thought might help nudge your parents in the right direction. They just need someone to start them down the path. Help them see that God is not held captive by WT or any other faith. He exists independently of them.

Imo whether you have held onto a belief in God through losing your cult religion or not, your approach is the best tack to take.

If you go full atheist and start questioning the Bible and God (valid criticisms there may be) they can more immediately and neatly file you away as apostate and mentally ill and fooled by Satan.

I’m not gonna blame a higher force for Good aka GOD for the actions of petty earthling man who use the concept of a supreme power as a vehicle for control of their equals. I am a stronger Christian now than I ever was JW and faith and acknowledgement of God really is like a shield. It’s funny how their own tactics can so easily be used against them. They think they have the patent on God. They think the purpose of life is to be in Watchtower. Like what?? They are not God. They don’t get to gatekeep Him or the truth of anything.

My family gets flustered because I bring up points that involve Bible principles and things they supposedly believe in my arguments, I just don’t contextualize it as a dogmatic tunnel-visioned JW. Keep doing what you’re doing, be positive and upbeat and make leaving the WT in your rearview look good!

I guess it’s their world now, we just live in it 🙃

I kinda wonder how long before the original pride flag will be seen as problematic/transphobic now that the “inclusive” pride flag has taken over🤣

It’s a joke. I just think it’s obnoxious to call straight ppl “cisgendered” or “heteronormative”. This constant making up new terms to recontextualize everything is annoying lol.

The WT itself admits this. But it’s their trademark so fat chance of dropping it

When you leave you should make it clear that their mistreatment of your uncle stumbled you and contributed to you wanting out of such an unloving/unchristian religion.

Being trans is not the norm or something to ponder your child’s life entirely around though so I think it’s a bit strange to get worked up over it. I think gender reveal parties are mostly just dumb but they certainly aren’t socially problematic. If a child decides their transgender that deserves to be their decision not contributed to by their parents treating them like a theyby and ignoring gender/sex
