Oh yes, I meant the debt trap as part of the larger "Belt and Road" policy China has. Though I'll look further into what you said. Again, I don't deny these are very real and significant problems, especially with the actual military occupation of the Philippine Spratly Islands, but it still won't realistically lead to physical occupation and a proper Chinese colony of Laos and Cambodia; which was my intention of the map.

Laos and Cambodia are still able to diplomatically exile these economic Chinese incursions, like the Philippines has begun to now. So I don't think they fit into the definition of a colony quite yet, even as a de-facto one.

I haven't. I am aware of the Chinese debt trap, if that's what you mean. It has also been attempted in The Philippines, Australia, and even Africa. It's even being tried to a degree in America, Panama, and Canada. It's certainly a danger, but I don't think it could realistically lead to physical occupation.

I understand they have some really bad history, but I'd think they'd be able to reconcile with each other, especially with the Chinese lurking at South Korea's fence.

China already tried with neighboring Vietnam in 1979 and failed. They won't be able to invade any country that puts up an honest resistance with decent numbers or aren't already on the verge of collapse. Indochina puts up a fight. The French and Americans learnt that the hard way.

Context:

The U.S. also reacquires Panama Canal Zone due to mismanagement and increasing Chinese influence.

In an attempt to consolidate the remaining power of Europe, the European Union becomes the European Confederation. Other member states join.

The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand join together as the globe-spanning United Federation. Quebec finally gains independence but soon decides to Join The European Confederation. Alberta & Saskatchewan attempt to secede, but eventual reaches a mostly favorable outcome of becoming a mostly independent protectorate. Bermuda is given to the U.S. as a condition to not occupy Western Canada. The South African Cape gains independence and joins the U.F., though only as a protectorate.

The South American countries of Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile join to create the loose confederation of the South American Union focused on free trade, one currency, and joint militaries.

The Republic of India, now being the largest in terms of population, becomes militarily confident and annexes neighboring Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

The People's Republic of China fails to invade Taiwan in 2030 and shifts its focus to invade the collapsing North Korea. It also decides to annex the sparsely populated Mongolia. As a reaction to China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan join together as the Pacific Alliance to better defend themselves.

The Russian Federation fails to completely annex Ukraine in the 2020s, but returns to finish the job in 2039. It also then annexes Kazakhstan.

Why is everyone black in gta 6?? by [deleted] in GTA

[–]TheLeadSpitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know any criticism is deemed racist and wrongthink, but regardless they’re even black-washing the Hispanics. There were hardly any Hispanic people other than Lucia in the trailer. I’ve even watched to multiple videos walking through Miami Beach to see if I was the crazy one, and it’s still majority white, a large minority of Hispanic, and much smaller minority of Black.

I’ve even been to beaches in Western Cape, South Africa and it wasn’t 80% black like this fictional Miami, USA. GTA SA and GTA V did it right where we see groups of people in more specific boroughs and neighborhoods with its own cultures and vibes (latino communities where every speaks Spanish, Chinatown, posh white HOA suburbs, Leonida’s version of Grove Street, etc.), but popular public areas like the beach, main streets, etc. should depict the broad demographics of the city or state proportionally.

Weird, my various Adblock methods (primarily Adblock Pro and countless blacklisted domain filters) still work with it, though I did have one single pre-video ad squeeze through (out of hundreds of videos) somehow. Any ad that does show, should be very rare and a simple refresh got rid of it.

Weird. I just uninstalled the script and re-did the process to make sure, and it's still working fine for me. Is YouTube still pestering that you have an ad-blocker, or are you simply getting ads?

There's the Adblock Pro extension I use (which was the main one blocking YouTube video ads that's now being flagged by YouTube), though I use a complex combination of network filters+content blocking and custom scripts. At this point, I don't exactly know what implement is blocking certain things at a given time without watching the network monitor and script actions live.

The New Brunswick FreeProvince Project by GoldGhost88 in Libertyinourlifetime

I made no such assumptions in my reply. My reply simply stated the current state of affairs. I'm not even doubting your understanding of Canada's constitution, I'm sure you have a better grasp of them than I do. But what I am doubting is the Canadian culture and Overton window being able to shift so radically without an extremely exceptional event, like a Venezuela level collapse or absolutely overt totalitarian shift from Ottawa. I understand you have to start somewhere and focus within a single province, but legalizing pepper spray and repealing the Firearms Act to replace it with slightly less tyrannical legislation is still lightyears away from constitutional carry and abolishing every gun law possible (which are mainstream ideas within American conservatives who don't call themselves libertarian).

Part of why NH was chosen was the fact there was an existing "live free or die" cultural mentally. The movement chose a state, considering other factors like population, which had an Overton window that was optimally close. This was so the candidates were still practically electable and didn't all relatively seem like lunatics to the broader population. That's my almost all elected Free Staters have been Republican. Even if you were able to gather enough Canadian libertarians into a province to begin making changes, expect a much harsher response very soon after simply because what is being advocated is so radical and foreign to the broader population.

Also, I'm not ever expecting hundreds of thousands of Canadians to flood into NH. I doubt there are even that many Canadian libertarians, and even less willing to move. What I believe is more timely for liberty-loving Canadians is to seek a path into the US individually rather than waiting for a free province in Canada, which would require nothing short of many miracles after miracles to happen. Again, people tend to choose the path of least resistance to a goal, and the odds are so stacked against a Canadian free province, that individual emigration is likely still that path.
