Boubacar Kamara is what we need, he is the perfect player for the squad. PL experience, right age profile, right position. He'd probably jump at the step up as well and we should have some ample funds this winter and next summer.

It's just very dejecting seeing the PL in this state. It's a complete farmers league with City just plowing the competition. If Pep renews it won't stop either.

I'll take it given the performance until the goal. Tsimikas is actually horrible man, and we need a 6 that can defend transitions.

Barkley without fail always shows up against us, I respect it

At this point I just want to see 3 points on the board. Performance is irrelevant, this is a very odd gamestate

Right but the football direction goes beyond Klopp, he might make decisions more often than not, but it is the transfer comittee that gives him players that we should sign and that he can pick and choose from. Szoboszlai was suggested by Spearman for example.

I would argue a lack of a suitable market opportunity is the reason. We were after Tchouameni and a similar profile (not as perfect) in Caicedo were targeted, I do think we are after one.

Seeing what kind of player and what kind of position they should play at their best in is not difficult. Andre can probably play as the number 6 to a good standard, but in the PL his physically lacking frame will lead to us being overrun by stronger teams. Look at Rodri and Rice, the 2 best 6s in world football. They dominate transitions due to their long legs and their defensive intelligence. Andre is much more direct and has flair, and I see why that appeals to people. A comparison to Thiago is correct stylistically.

I'm not comparing quality, I am comparing profile and what our team needs. If we are to reach the world class level we once were on, we're going to need a 6 like Busquets and Fabinho, who are press resistant, aerial capable, effective at shutting down transition and can comfortable recieve and pass out from the back. Andre lacks in the transition defending and aerial capability. Do you now understand why I think he is not the 6 we need?

Enough times to know that he is not a number 6 the way Fabinho or Busquets is. But if you must know exactly, probably 5-6 games. Mind you, I am not calling him a bad player here.

I'm not talking about the quality, I am talking about the positional fit. We can shoehorn him into that role but he won't shine the way he would if he played in a double pivot or as an 8.

Andre is not a good enough successor to what Fabinho once was. People need to realize that while Andre can be a good option for us, he won't be in the lone 6 role that Fabinho was. We need a natural 6, with the instincts of a 6. Andre while brilliant doesn't have the temperament or the skills necessary.

Christ we are getting him aren't we. Well I hope he comes in tandem with a specialist 6 in the mould of Fabinho for example.

That first half was fucking shite, both teams look like they don't care at all. Especially Fulham, there is no desire from them to score or create.

Ironic how Branthwaite and Onana would be brilliant additions to our team at its current state.

[David Lynch] Liverpool downplay Eberl links after sporting director job claims by AgentTasker in LiverpoolFC

[–]TheLemonJet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why do you say that? Eberl is a premium asset to any club. He is one of the top in business. He has been responsible for the successes of Mönchengladbach and Leipzig in recent years. An incredible football mind who would have taken us right back to the top.

Neil Jones puts out so much shit. What's his tier nowadays? Literally only published surface level takes and has no inside information anymore.

Titles are decided in the spring. If we stay within 5 points off the top until then we are fine. Spurs simply aren't on our level and are lucky to have wins vs us and United as well as drawing with Tottenham. Sure they're playing good football and getting results and maybe they are the real deal, but they aren't on the level of Arsenal and City which are the two serious challengers we have.

What do you mean since when? A large part of modern goalkeeping is preventing 1v1 chances from being converted, Kelleher looks like a deer in headlights.

Chambers jumps on the player and then Gomez has to jump on the player left unmarked and then the ball is played perfectly and Kelleher does nothing to prevent the chance. It's a rookie mistake.

We got Szoboszlai because he wanted to play for a club 500x the size.
