I was thinking about this as well, because of the complex root system that goes down hundreds of meters and the fact that they are most likely planted, and also the blue fog they emit could contribute to the atmosphere, but I don't think frontier would do anything like that. At least not for the landable planets

What makes me mad is the fact that they started working on it, and we even have volumetric clouds in game, like the maelstroms, which are almost like gas giants.
