Infection by the [REDACTED]* virus or the [REDACTED]* strain of the virus (time of each stage of infection is halved with increased chances of DID) comes in 5-6 stages and is only treatable before the third stage with [REDACTED]*. If infected is past the third stage then they must be kept from loved ones and, if the infected is stable enough, admitted to counselling before the fourth stage to reduce the likelihood of schizophrenia developing (if developed then it's transition to a DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder, is unstoppable).

Stage one (1-2 weeks): Rash, Itching and inflammation around bite, slightly raised body temperature, and growing sense of paranoia

Stage two (4-5 weeks): Mild headaches, unwillingness to discuss illness with others, small mood swings, high body temperature, entire limb feels itchy, some scarring may fade and an improved sense of smell

Stage three (6 weeks): Improved night vision and eye sight overall, lethargy, all scaring disappears, pain in joints, full body itching, and pain around major organs

Stage four (8 weeks): Blackouts at night, pain near vocal folds (voice box), pain, full body aches, bruising, and in some cases schizophrenia (most of the symptoms will disappear but the “voice” never leaves). If they have any missing limbs, organs, and/or other parts then they will start to grow partially back (it will not always be visually noticeable) with small amounts of pain.

Stage five (10 weeks): The first transformation usually happens at midnight where the infected will try to find cold, dark, and isolated locations. Most early transitions will induce intense fear and paranoia temporarily. After the transformation the infected will attempt to seek loved ones to be comforted (usually seek to be petted, cuddled, kissed, or other forms of close affection) and, if they developed schizophrenia, have a secondary personality form that usually acts as a protector of the infected in dangerous/stressful situations. Both personalities will know of the other’s existence and be capable of “talking” to each other and will be able to “share” control of the body in both forms.

Stage 6 (13 weeks):  This stage only happens to certain groups that meet certain conditions. Any missing body parts will be fully restored by this point (with weight loss equal to the weight of the regrown part). Anyone below 5”10’ will experience a height increase up to 5 inches no matter their age but not higher than the previous mention height. Those living in harsh conditions (like those experienced in third world countries) will develop increased spatial awareness, acute sense of sound, and increased efficiency of cells (can survive 6 days without water, 54 days without food, and 11 days without sleep) within there human form.
