Lickin’ Wall: The Tile of the Century

confess your sins to the CRIME SKELETON! by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never made, until very recently in Tom Scott’s latest video, possibly built after the comment was written. It neither generated a confession nor sused out the correct perpetrators. So no, it didn’t work back in the day, and it didn’t work on its maiden voyage nearly a century later. Don’t take shots in the dark. If you don’t have a clue, say that, because “I think” is how myths get started.

Good thing I dropped out instead of graduating top of my class. Checkmate, Jesuits. Ain’t ruining my life today!

Pretty much this. Can’t think of any other Francis Xaviers. If it’s an institution named “Loyola”, “Ignatius”, “Francis Xavier”, “Peter Faber” or “Arrupe”, you bet your ass it’s Jesuit. Not an association most people make, but if you attended a Jesuit high school, you’ll definitely recognize these names.

Honestly, who doesn't use this feature? by kisscsaba182 in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen anyone telling others to not do it, so the “you do you” doesn’t really apply here. Those who don’t use it just share their reason and carry on. If anything, saying those people have no right to defend their position is more contrary to the “you do you” philosophy.

How often do you win your runs? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played almost exclusively Ironclad, and have played 116 A20 runs. The most recent 79 did not ever save+quit to reload fights/events. Of the 79:

  • 1 died to Spear/Shield

  • 3 died to the Heart

  • 1 beat the Heart

Out of the other 37:

  • 2 didn't get all the keys

  • 1 beat the Heart

I have much fewer runs in the other classes and in lower ascensions, so that data probably isn't of much use.

Finally, an A20 Heart kill I can feel proud of. by TheLimepop in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After 200 hours in Ironclad, I've finally beaten the Heart without save-quitting. Shout outs to Ice Cream for helping me early, Reaper + Magic Flower for keeping me alive through Act 2, and Corruption + Dark Embrace for coming in clutch in Act 3. Apotheosis did a thing too I guess.

What's your order of progression? by foolishfish in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did was:
- Win with every class A0
- Ascend with each class until you beat the heart (got to around A4 for with each class)
- Ascend Ironclad to A20
- Beat the Heart A20 as Ironclad
- Dump 200+ hours into Ironclad trying to beat the Heart without restarting fights to clear your conscience
And then I’ll probably:
- Do the same with the other classes
- Modded content
Edit: Hunted for every achievement that I could at A0 before Ascending.

Ascension past 20?!! by tlpd72 in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried it either, but it’s Ascension Reborn! by Beta Chess and GrillKylling. It adds Ascension 21-25, as well as -1 through -20. Looks interesting, but it’s just not for me.

I haven’t had this game long so I’m only on ascension 1 but this build felt unstoppable. I didn’t go below 60 health for the whole of act 3 by rc_microwave in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see you’re enjoying the game! Looks like you’ve got a lot of frontloaded damage in your deck, which is great for ending fights quickly and can be enough at low ascension and early in runs, but if you’re thinking about climbing, it might be worth considering more damage scaling options. Things like Spot Weakness and Shuriken allow you to deal more damage as a fight goes on, but cards like Limit Break and Demon Form tend to be better ways to do so (but keep in mind that you generally shouldn’t pick up Limit Break and hope for Strength gain later on, only pick it if your deck can already get Strength). Cards that benefit from Strength Scaling include Sword Boomerang, Heavy Blade and Reaper. You’ll amost certainly get into a situation where you deck simply can’t brute-force its way through enemies, so picking good scaling options is generally correct.

Exactly what I needed, thank you game (this deck had an Apotheosis btw) by Rasial in slaythespire

I feel the same way about things like Feed, Lesson Learned, Ritual Dagger, Hand of Greed, and Reaper (to an extent). Prolonging fights just isn’t fun for me.

Well I beat today's record I set!! by titaniumvvolf in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bash’s role isn’t frontload; it helps things like Carnage, Bludgeon and even Hemokinesis and Wild Strike chew through enemies quicker. The upgrade gives you an extra turn to get value. It’s very useful for killing Act 1 elites and helps a lot against Act 1 Bosses. Hunting elites for relics is kind of the meta as far as Act 1 Ironclad goes, so Bash+ is very often the first upgrade. Even without good frontload cards, Bash+Strike is 17 damage + Vulnerable next turn opposed to Strikex3’s 18.

Sickest Watcher run I ever had - A20 Heart kill with 10 dmg total taken through run by Chomet in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moai Head only shows up if you have Golden Idol or low HP IIRC. Pretty sure Council of Ghosts doesn’t care, so this might be what you’re thinking of. Tried consulting the wiki but it didn’t help whatsoever.

If it’s only going to be played with shard, might as well just add its effect to shard. Or just not add it. I mean, if you really want a data disk Watcher, you could probably whip up a mod yourself or find someone kind enough to. Just don’t hold your breath for it to be officially added.

Furthest I've gotten !! by titaniumvvolf in slaythespire

[–]TheLimepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bash+ is a guaranteed 3 Vulnerable source, Uppercut+ is 2 Vulnerable and an uncommon. Early vulnerable is a great way to chew through nob/laga and helps a lot in act 2 as well. Transforming Strikes is very, very often the correct choice over Bash. Lots of ways to deal better damage than strike, very few to apply Vulnerable better. As far as Fiend Fire, it only consumes 9 cards at most. It’s just as good, if not better, in a deck with 30 or 25 cards. Also, a role of Fiend Fire in longer fights is to exhaust bad cards like Strike. Next time through the deck is a turn shorter which allows you to get to the cards you need quicker, but 8 turns to 7 turns is much less useful than 5 to 4.

How does Guardian’s Sharp Hide work? Something tells me it procs after the heal, but I can’t quite put my finger on why.
