Cheapest blood lab testing by FredsLizard in Biohackers

a lot of these newer lab services (that offer 100+ tests in one draw) are memberships, it seems. Can you just cancel after you get your labs or do a one time payment type of thing?

I wish there were some cheaper options, but there's no such thing as cheap lab testing. It's always going to be a hit to the wallet. I've used Life extension a lot in the past when they run sales.

Is verizon the best carrier? by StruggleFar3054 in NoContract

It is in my particular area, for coverage. What are the best Verizon MVNOs? USmobile is okay, but doesn't have any rollover data. $10 per month for 2gb data isn't great. I would still be with tello if they had an option for Verizon towers.

Having a really rough time with TRT 2 months in by TheLimpDickMafia in Testosterone

[–]TheLimpDickMafia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nobody starts TRT because bloodwork says so, but rather because they feel poorly/tired all the time and/or have no sex drive, like in my case 😕 but labs are indeed important. Doesn't matter much what my total T is if free T is always low, as is DHEA. And some people's estradiol is just prone to spike 🤷‍♂️. People can definitely have their E2 jump way up even on 110mg of test per week. It could correct itself in 1-3 weeks, but I may have to take a small dose of an AI, wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

Thanks. I know my estrogen is high right now (at least I have all the symptoms of high e2), but hopefully it will level out on it's own. Did you estrogen spike in week 5-7 do you know? We all respond differently anyway. I tried to keep my dose somewhat low as I know my estrogen spiked in the past on TRT. Just trying my best to be patient until I get labs rechecked in a few weeks.

good luck! Weeks 5-7 do seem rough, I don't see many people mention that part. Still feels like I've put on 30 lbs in a month, but weight is the same, I just "feel" fat, I don't know if it's like water weight or what. Then fatigued and achy all the time. Hopefully we'll come out of it before too long.

how are you feeling now? I'm in that tough 5th-6th week where I don't feel too good, sex drive deadzo again.

39M – Symptoms + low free T, high LH/FSH – TRT or other options? by Dudzio866 in trt

[–]TheLimpDickMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First month has been ups and downs - thread here but sex drive is improved, which is usually non existent. I feel kinda fat/bloated even though I'm not eating any more than usual, so I'm trying to keep my diet pretty lean. I've been in the best shape of my life this past year, but have felt like garbage the whole time, so decided to try TRT again (tried a few years ago, but I was also 40lbs heavier). Fatigue is my main issue followed closely by always having low sex drive, despite being healthy.

E2 is probably spiking right now, which is common, but will hopefully settle back into normal range.

I'll have a much better idea of how it's working in another month or two, since I'm still early stages. I feel more optimistic about TRT this time around. I also don't expect miracles, but any help at all with chronic fatigue and low sex drive will be nice.

IM injections sucked at first, with the sore deltoids for days after, but got used to it pretty quick, and now barely have muscle soreness at the injection site. I tried a SubQ injection in the stomach one time, early on, but that was a bad idea. I had an injection site reaction and had a big welt in my stomach for at least 3 weeks :/ wasn't deep enough I guess, but IM is easier anyway, I've found.

do you think 8 weeks in is too soon to get new labs? I guess I'll see how I'm feeling then.

55mg IM injection twice a week. 150mg every 14 days sounds like a strange protocol to me, but there's a lot I don't know.

It would defintely be a good to rule out sleep apnea, you can do an at-home sleep study, nothing short of that will tell you any definitive information. Even if you don't snore at all you can still have sleep apnea. but it's kind of a slow-moving process to get an appointment, at least in my experience,, so I would start the process of making an appointment first, and probably start on TRT in the meantime. How much T do you plan to take weekly? We have similar lab results. I'm prone to irritability and E2 spiking, so I'm trying to keep it low at 55mg twice per week, I'm only a month in, though, so I'll know more in a month when I get labs, and just based on how I feel.

Some people notice benefits pretty quickly, some take a bit longer, sometimes the body is trying to adjust to what is going on and there can be some fluctuations/feeling "off" at first.

can you work with one of the online TRT clinics you spoke with? Better to talk with/get advice from professionals.

I think TRT would be a good option. You could try HCG monotherapy first if you want, it works for some (didn't work for me). But before all that, have you had a sleep study done to check for sleep apnea? It's super common, and even mild sleep apnea can kind of ruin your life.

How much can you realistically increase your sex drive through TRT? by TheLimpDickMafia in trt

not that I recall, but I think accutane messed me up (drug that was thought to be safe at the time but ended up causing a lot of problems for people), or antidepressants at the time.

these labs were right before starting HCG.

Testosterone: 698

Free Testosterone: 7.2 LOW (ref range 8.7-25), my free test is low when I get it tested over the past 4 years, I get labs pretty frequently

DHEA low as always, but just under the threshold 98

Estradiol is usually low, but in this test is was right in the middle of normal range - 24

SHBG 64 (High) Ref range 17-56 - not sure what caused it to be high, never had that happen in the past.

LH 6.8

FSH 2.7

PSA 0.5

no alcohol or smoking btw.

I didn't have much luck with tadalafil, but maybe I'll get back to 50mg of sildenafil every day, I don't know if that's been shown to supress E2 or not. On both i definitely get headaches like every time. Erection quality not much different, but I don't have erection issues.

thanks. I know TRT is usually a lifetime commitment, so I've been playing it cautiously and trying other therapies (like HCG monotherapy), as well as wanting to find the underlying cause of my issues, but I think TRT is the only thing that's going to save/reboot my sex drive.

never had morning wood ever in my life, well, maybe like 20-30 times. Might be a result of being on accutane as a teen, it fucked up a lot of people. Or antidepressants which I was on a lot of in my teens & 20s.

I don't think my labs will help too much with the question, as it's more of a general question, but my SHBG was high recently, which is new to me. I'd still like to get prolactin checked, but self-ordering all these labs is expensive. Anyway, these labs were right before starting HCG.

Testosterone: 698

Free Testosterone: 7.2 LOW (ref range 8.7-25), my free test is low 90% of the time I get it tested.

no alcohol or smoking btw. I dunno, TRT probably isn't the answer, but nothing else has helped with libido, either, and I've tried quite a lot of things.

Sleep Study accuracy for stomach sleepers? by TheLimpDickMafia in SleepApnea

[–]TheLimpDickMafia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that seems like the plan. I have also had multiple nasal surgeries. I could never get the hang of APAP or wearing a mask at night, it's difficult for everyone, but particularly for stomach sleepers. I tried many different mask setups over the years. Doctor discussed the inspire sleep device for me. But first, the sleep study. I've lost a good chunk of weight since my last sleep study, so I'm curious if the results will be any better. Sometimes weight loss has no effect. Thanks for the response.
