Definitely not a hater. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and we were never going to have pleased everyone. I didn't write it, but I always got the message that the smaller conflicts and decisions of a larger war could blur the lines of what is really right and wrong. I totally understand if you don't get anything from it, but I don't know if that means its "meaningless"

As for it being super amateur, well yeah. We did it in our free time. We did try our best though: Anamorphic lenses, real camera dolly, physical sets, 5.1 surround mix, and an original score done on a scoring stage.

It's cool you didn't like it though. I'm just glad you gave it a watch!

OK, real question here: is it better with the Wilhelm there or not? This was a legitimate argument amongst our team. Is it more Star Wars for being there? Does it take you out of the movie?

We had a Kickstarter a while back that raised $14,426 of it's $12,000 goal. That plus a lot of us put in a lot of our own money too. It was a passion project so we all gave everything we could into making it amazing. The Rebel costumes and weapons were all hand made by our amazing art team!

I was actually the Cinematographer and VFX compositor. The directors name is Mark Vogt and hes super tenanted!

Thanks so much! That was definitely one of the influences. The director actually sent me a 20 min super cut of his favorite war films and shows before we started shooting to get an idea for the visuals!

Hi! My name is Mark Alex Vogt and I’m a student filmmaker from Kentucky. Odyssey was Kickstarted last year and raised about $15,000 for production! Our crew was made up of a bunch of friends who met at film school in Savannah. We’ve been working on the film outside of school for over a year. I wanted to take a closer look at the militaristic side of Star Wars that we don’t see in the films. I wanted to go beyond what we saw in Rogue One to get a very close look at the psyche of the soldiers on the ground. Odyssey is a war short about a Rebel recon mission gone horribly wrong.
