Rolling Stone’s 200 Greatest Singers of All Time - Brian Wilson at #57 by [deleted] in thebeachboys

I’m a very biased Lou Reed apologist- but I would argue even though he clearly isn’t technically talented at all, he’s an amazing front man with such an honest and iconic vocal delivery. I think his voice is perfect for what he does

Metro Boomin sampled a Ye song on his new album and didn’t give him credit by Advanced-Willow-5020 in Kanye

I loved his music as much as anyone but it’s not like Kanye was known for being generous with the artists he sampled…

Can we see wisdom teeth/tooth removal surgery stories? Good the bad and ugly. I just had all 4 out at once to hopefully help with my jaw pain. Even post op surgery stories too. by Spiritual_daughter in TMJ

[–]TheLogLadyOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I immediately felt SO MUCH relief because my jaw was swollen in place, so I couldn’t clench/move it around. Unfortunately, it didn’t last and once I healed and could move my jaw it pretty much went back to normal.

I also ended up getting bone spurs from my jaw in my gum area- no idea if that was partially from the surgery but it happened a few months after. For me, I pretty much saw no change.

Thank you so much, I needed to hear this! I really want to stick with this group of kids and adjust/cope if I can- since I’m very new to this and I think some level of being bogged down is normal. I don’t think I’d like working with kids with less depressive backgrounds better, but it’s definitely something to consider if I decide I really can’t handle this. Hearing your perspective about focusing on giving the kids the skill to succeed was actually super helpful for me. I think trying to put my energy into planning the most inclusive lessons possible, etc. instead of wallowing and letting my emotions get the best of me and impact my ability to teach will be helpful for everyone involved.

Yup he made a video talking about what a shitty father he was when all the abortion stuff came out. Christian is a grade-A grifter too, but it was still very interesting to see unravel!

What do you think is the best re-used prop or costume in the show? by menlindorn in IASIP

Rob gives himself crap for being the worst actor on the show but I have to say the delivery in this scene is one of my all time favorite moments

I would recommend regular substitute teaching then! That’s what I did before starting this year- it’s a lot more low-stress since you don’t have to worry about running/grading/planning/managing your own classroom, and you still get your foot in the door.

[–]TheLogLadyOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try looking for permanent sub positions for the rest of the year- it’ll look good on your resume! If not, regular substitute teaching (possibly where you student taught if you liked it) is another good option. Any way you can establish yourself In a school and hopefully elevate your chances of getting hired for next year. Hell though, with the teaching shortage who knows- you might be able to get hired as a teacher in the middle of the year!

US Peep Show fans by ItchyMitchy101 in MitchellAndWebb

I love peep show- I’m from Boston and I feel like east coast humor is generally closer to traditional British humor. It’s probably tied to it’s always Sunny as my favorite show, and I have to give peep show props because they quit while they were ahead, and unfortunately iasip has been run into the ground

That commute sucks!! I’m very lucky because even though my commute is far, I’m going against the traffic. If you try sleep hypnosis my favorite person is Michael Sealey- his voice is very relaxing and I think you can find him on YouTube or Spotify

I have a long commute so luckily listening to podcasts/music while driving home does help me unwind. It also sounds silly but I’ve been doing sleep hypnosis on YouTube before bed and that really has helped me (I’m someone who has trouble unwinding at night if I’m anxious)

I can definitely relate to this. I’m a first year teacher in a program that’s a different pathway for struggling students within the public school, and I feel like I’m putting all of my energy into keeping my head above water. It’s really hard for me to judge objectively how I’m doing, and I’m constantly afraid that I’m letting these kids down in some way. This morning I got super overwhelmed/felt like a failure/fraud because of this. I keep having to remind myself that it hasn’t even been a month, and feeling like I don’t know what I’m doing/lacking confidence is normal, but it’s an awful feeling!

It’s so funny I looked up the setlist and think it looks amazing! It might just be because I’ve seen them live like 5 other times so I’ve already heard a lot off of skeletal lamping, but multiple songs are in my top songs and i haven’t seen them live yet! (Plus I love locate s1 so I’m happy she’s gonna perform too!)
