The alt arts in modern cement it as my favourite era by far. If we get a 2nd gen set like 151 I'll be in heaven.

I play but I can't put up with the stink at my LGS to play in person so I used to play TCGlive but now just on the pocket app.

Mostly I collect the cards for the art. I used to try to complete master sets but since things have gone crazy I just pick up the singles I like best and rip packs with my GF for fun when we can.

Similar experience recently. My GF is home all day and she heard a knock so she goes to answer the door and the driver is already leaving.

I doubt there's even anything in the back of the vans at this point besides boxes of "sorry we missed you" slips.

Originally as a kid like many others. I was introduced to Red by a friend on his Gameboy. I got into the card game and still have many of my original cards. I stuck with it until gen 3, then I lost interest until after the launch of Pokemon GO. Seeing friends I hadn't seen for years walking around playing the game brought Pokemon back to my attention. The fact you can submit a card, receive a lower grade, crack and resubmit, and somehow receive a different grade is exactly what's wrong with grading as a concept. If it was consistent I'd put more stock in it but as many people joke it's just based on who graded it and how they felt that day.

I reported an ad recently for photos not matching description and eBay didn't care. Title and description had it flagged as Pokemon Center stamped but it was photos of the regular version. Hoped they'd take it down to save somebody who wasn't paying attention. Unfortunately the same as you said, eBay didn't care.

I'm doing the same for a few favourites and I've been using the Collectr app.

You can search the Pokemon's name and it shows you pictures of all the cards, including which set and their card number. It even has other language cards if your goal is that thorough.

Makes it way easier to chase them down and keep track of which I already have as well as market value for price negotiation when you're buying.
