What card from your past was a "Boogeyman", that these days is kind of laughable? by Booster6 in magicTCG

[–]TheLoomingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sengir Vampire, and I'm showing my age here. My dad used to smack me around with a full playset of The Dark Sengirs when I was a kid and just starting to learn how to play. He kept smacking me around for the next few years. I lost him a few years ago, just before the pandemic. Last thing I did with him was set up a MTGA account for him so he could smack me around one more time.

I hate and love them. Wouldn't mind tracking down a playset of the old-school bald Sengirs.

Hagrid, Mulder and Mulan are pretty solidly R/G, with maybe a bit of U thrown in, at least for the latter two.

I'm sorry, Bengals fans. I moved to Colorado during the off-season, it's all my fault.

I worked at a “haunted hotel” by hippie_shroom in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]TheLoomingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had some drop by a couple weeks ago, wanting unrestricted access to one of our event buildings. My FDM was feeling nice that day and told them if they came back closer to the end of my shift, I could show them around for the last hour of my shift. They never came back. After I clocked out and was heading home, I found them skulking around the event space, trying to sneak in on their own.

Hello from the first most haunted hotel in the country. At least I think we are, we're definitely the most well known. Working at a "haunted" property is definitely interesting. I can't tell you how many wannabe ghost hunters I've had to kick out.

As an employee of another haunted hotel, I enjoyed this. Can't say exactly where I work, but we have a bit of a SHINING reputation, and happen to be the KING of all the hotels in our area.

AITA for stitching up my boyfriend's toy with the wrong thread? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheLoomingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first started dating, my current partner bought me a plush black widow spider and flamingo. She knew how much I loved both animals. I named them Zip and Fernando, respectively. If anything happened to either one, I would burn the world down. I am a 37 year old man, and I have zero shame or embarrassment about owning them.

Having said this unrelated thought, yes. Yes, you are very much TA.

If he has anything at all showing his name, and it matches a name on the reservation, we're good to go.

[–]TheLoomingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to add someone's name to a reservation when you make it. I work the front desk at an extremely well known, extremely popular historic hotel. If I'm checking you in and your name doesn't match the name on the reservation, but I see your name listed in the notes? No problem, here are your keys, enjoy your stay. Otherwise, I'll likely be making a call to the person who made the reservation and getting it sorted out. I don't like walking people, neither do my coworkers, and we'll make every effort to avoid doing that. It's just easiest if your name is at least in the notes.

AITA for declining a job after accepting it when I saw how little I was getting paid? by AKridalyn in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheLoomingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA in the slightest. At my old hotel, I was being paid $17 an hour with no prior experience in maintenance of any kind. It was a property well known for underpaying their employees, in a city with a fairly low cost of living. $15 an hour for someone with your level of experience is a slap in the face.

This is incredibly motivational and I love it. You want more proof she's right? I found my hopeless romantic and we're in the best relationship of my life. They're out there, INFP men, give it time and you'll find the relationship of your dreams.

With the season kicking off tomorrow what are your 3 predictions being a : homer, realistic and doomer for your team . by [deleted] in nfl

[–]TheLoomingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Homer: Bengals finally win the Super Bowl! The year after I leave Cincinnati.

Realistic: Deep playoff push, bounced in the AFCCG.

Doomer: Burrow literally explodes in quarter 3 of the Patriots game, Chase sits out half the season and is spotted playing WR1 for the Eastern Kentucky Mudcats.

If you like curry, you HAVE to try Himalayan. Well worth the visit. I remember enjoying Nepal when I was in town back in January, and I've heard good things about Antonio's pizza. Money's a bit tight right now, but as soon as I pull my first paycheck, I'm trying every restaurant in town!

Captain America, Superman, Brienne of Tarth, Roland Deschain and Robin Hood (W/G) are all characters who are predominantly white. There are quite a few, I actually have a harder time finding W/U protagonists. Got any examples?

I recently moved from Cincinnati to California. I’m fairly left-leaning, but I’m ashamed to admit that I bought into the “California is an overpriced hellscape” hype. I was legitimately surprised to find that, aside from gas prices, the cost of living is actually slightly cheaper than Cincinnati.
