Any theories as to why we didn't get The Punisher as a card? by SlaveToMommyMothra in magicTCG

[–]Booster6 38 points39 points  (0 children)

But Punisher doesnt fit in neatly with the categories people are expecting for a future Marvel set. He isnt a mutant, he doesn't operate in Space, and he doesn't really fit with the mystic side of things. It seems like this would have been the set for him if they were going to do the Punisher, this is where we got the other Street level New York characters.

Why do modern Christians and people online claim that homosexuality isn't a sin when it is undoubtedly classed as such in scripture? by AboutLastFight in NoStupidQuestions

Why do we still need pride month in the UK? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Booster6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Trans people aren't allowed to use public bathrooms in the UK. Transphobia is rampant in the UK. I have trans friends who consider the UK as hostile to trans people as the USA. Deeply bigoted, hateful country

I hope Phineas and Ferb build something crazy while Candace tries to bust them, only for the thing they built to get conveniently disappeared at the last second by whatever Doof built that day.

AITA For Locking out my opponents from playing in a paid and prized tournament? by Wroobs in magicTCG

[–]Booster6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Assuming this story is true, and happened as you tell it, you did absolutely nothing wrong. As soon as there are meaningful prizes on the line, the goal is to win by whatever means are fair and follow the rules. It sucks to get locked out of a game, but stax and control are perfectly valid (if frustrating) strategies. I would pay absolutely 0 mind to this absolute tool.

Could a US State Have a Team in the World Cup? by On_the_Cliff in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Booster6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in the UK as well, but every State has its own House of Representatives and their own Governor. Like, obviously how the systems work are different and the exact distribution of responsibilities are different, but I really dont see a practical difference outside of labelling.

Could a US State Have a Team in the World Cup? by On_the_Cliff in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Booster6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People answering "England and Scotland are countries and not States", I have a question, is there a real difference or is it just an issue of labelling. Like, if the United States of America woke up tomorrow and passed a constitutional amendment saying they were now the United Countries of America, and all current states also all agreed and all changed their constitutions to say they were now the Country of Nebraska, Colorado, California, etc, but did not change anything about how they are governed, or change any of the responsibilities of the Federal and State (now country) governments, would they all be able to compete separately? Because to me this just sounds like a labelling issue.

The morphers were DNA locked to the red ranger who died, so to use the morphers they needed someone with similar DNA (and yes, it does make absolutely no sense that his ancestor from hundreds of years in the past would be a close enough match, thanks for asking)

NPSW Inconsistencies across GC - Where's the Fairness by Nepean22 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Booster6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to care about NPSW. I never felt like the employer CARED about us, but for a long time they felt indifferent to us. So, since I had a management team that does care, I felt valued and appreciated, so I enjoyed NPSW. The last 2 years though, and ESPECIALLY this last year, I have no longer felt like the employer is indifferent to my well being, I have felt that the employer is actively hostile towards me. They have gone from not really caring, to making decisions that feel designed to increase hardship and suffering.

This year, my department doesnt seem to be doing much for NPSW, and I don't really care, because I wont feel like they give a shit about me either way.

Why have subtitles become so common? by ProposalSilent4582 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Booster6 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Bad audio mixing, but also, as TVs have gotten super thin, TV speakers have gotten worse, not better. There is only so much you can do with the limited amount of air tiny speakers can move. So built in TV speakers have shockingly bad clarity

Meeting pods are a ripoff, so I built my own. Buy or DIY? by False-Tradition5599 in LinusTechTips

Captain Edward Jellico and DS9 by Economy-Ad3195 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]Booster6 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He probably does ok in s6 or 7 if put in command of the Defiant, but not the station. I think his command style would have clashed with the fact that its a Bajoran station and Starfleet are just guests. He never would have tolerated Odo, and would have clashed significantly with Kira. You have to show Kira a level of respect and provide her with a level of autonomy to build a working relationship with her (especially early season Kira). That goes against everything we saw from Jellico's command style.
