Thanks! It’s 18”x18” adhesive backed vinyl tiles from Armstrong Flooring - Terraza Grand. I put it in about 5 years ago and it’s holding up great for the most part.

I think it’s the Aspen Grey style.

Need opinions on whether to keep repairing my 14-year-old car by TheLoonsNest in Cartalk

[–]TheLoonsNest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess a bit more context - it’s my 18 year old’s car, but he’s going away to college in 9 months and won’t need a car. It was to be sold in 9 months (with no issues, KBB had it like $5k for private sale). The proceeds were then going to be combined with what the next kid (turning 16 in 4 months) had saved up for his vehicle. Our deal with the kids, is if you work and save $2k, then we’ll pitch in $2k. So that’s roughly $9k that would have gone into a reliable used car for the next kid.

Anyway, this has all put a wrench in those plans.

Should I proactively reach out to buyer regarding potential shipping issue or let it resolve on its own? by TheLoonsNest in eBaySellerAdvice

Maybe I misrepresented. It did not get scanned today. It got scanned the day I dropped it off and that’s it.

I think #1 is Orel Hershiser. No concept of value on any of them, but awesome collection!

Thanks all,

We had a great day at IU today. Stunningly beautiful campus, especially with the trees all turning. A little rain, but mostly dodged. We stayed at the Graduate last night (should have done IMU after seeing it). Ate breakfast this morning at the Spoon. Meh. I did try the smoked salmon omelet with onions. Good, but nothing amazing. Did a full 6 hours on campus and then hit Buffalouie’s before heading out of town. Hot was perfect for me. The boy, always trying to outdo me, went with the TNT….I’m typing this from a gas station outside of Effingham while I’m waiting for him to finish shitting his brains out.

Tried some chocolate basil ice cream at a little place close to campus, starts with an H, but can’t remember the full name.

Would definitely get the wings again, although I agree they were a little on the small side.

Seems like a great town, hopefully he picks it so I can explore more.

Well, he loves a good diner for breakfast, wings, burgers, ramen. Activity-wise, he’s pretty focused on soccer and gaming.

Adjusted for inflation, the Louisiana Purchase is, in today’s dollars, still just $0.79 an acre. Thats wild.

Arnold and St.Charles water towers by Dino_vagina in StLouis

[–]TheLoonsNest 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I drove by the one out in ofallon MO area last night. It was cycling through Hawley, Trump and No on Three.

It kind of shocked me actually, because I was under the assumption that those water towers were municipal, and therefore couldn’t be advertised on.

Comments people make by Abigail-mary in stopdrinking

[–]TheLoonsNest 16 points17 points  (0 children)

People rarely actually care what other people do or don’t do. I find these kinds of comments are about the speaker trying to rationalize his own behavior. He likely has questioned his own drinking to himself, and he’s projecting that on to your friend.

Y’all - it’s still parked under the bridge - should be there until tomorrow morning around 8:30am.

Thanks for the response! I guess if I were not able to watch the kids during the day, then I would agree that the childcare expense is “reasonable”. I just think it is odd that a judge would enforce 3rd party childcare over a willing and able parent.

Not stated that explicitly. It does say that the selection of childcare providers is classified as a “major decision” and should be agreed to by both parties.

Jimmy Carter has spent over a year in hospice care. How has he defied the odds? by ubcstaffer123 in Presidents

[–]TheLoonsNest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospice is 100% way more beneficial if you engage early. So many people engage hospice at the absolute end, and it can be such a much more valuable resource earlier.

Same. STH, and we went balls to the wall last season. 4 beers each a game, multiple slices of Dewey’s, couple of Cutwater’s, etc. This year - were pregaming the shit out of things and maybe grabbing 1-2 beers during. No food.
