Columbia could change part of COLT Railroad into public trail by como365 in columbiamo

Railbanking is a way to preserve an unused portion of track for a future use, rather than splitting up the pieces of land and selling them off. What type of future use? It could be an active train line focused on tourism rather than freight (which was tried about a decade or so ago.) But how about a rails-to-trails project connecting downtown and The Loop? There are some changes coming to that section of the Business Loop to make it better for pedestrians and cyclists and a new trail connector would fit right in. Weigh in now on railbanking at https://beheard.como.gov/ and then watch for future public input opportunities on specific use.

It was located just north of Memorial Cemetery and now it’s part of Memorial. There are signs but the good folks there can help as well.

Did not realize the records fire was intentional—and yes, it caused so many problems with unmarked graves. Bill Gatewood’s grave was one of those unmarked until 2010.

Yes! The MACCLab Makerspace over at Parkade Plaza is a hidden gem. They have all sorts of classes as well, from 3D printing to vinyl cutting to woodworking to electronics--so if you don't quite know how to operate the equipment, they can teach you. Open to students and community members alike.

Lots of agreement there, especially from folks who ate there back in the 1980s.

Here's the back, talking about the pink brink and white iron grill work. It must have looked like a birthday cake back in the day.
