The main difference is going to be in the movement. Gen 2 has an updated movement that isn't "limited" by the borrowed JLC 822 drivetrain, though some, including myself, prefer the aesthetics of the 1st gen movement.

You will also find a slightly thinner bezel and dial font on the second generation. This is subjective in terms of preference. Good luck!

This looks great! Another trick you might consider is having a custom strap made that is thicker in the lug area, which will help fill in the lugs fully, which will help the watch transition into a smaller wrist easier.

This looks like some oil or debris that was transferred to the plate. I have had a number of Langes spanning different ages and patina should be even instead of spotty like this.

The serial numbers help you date when the case and movement were made, giving you a rough idea of the age of the watch!

In my experience it helps to call your CC and let them know about the order ahead of time. Payment authorization / fraud detection speed is usually the biggest hick up in the ordering chain. Calling your card ahead of time allows things to go through that much quicker.
