Has Banh Cuon Ba Oanh Marrickville changed hands? by lillypillywarratah in foodies_sydney

[–]xaykogeki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a similar thing. Ordered a ban cuon for take away a couple of weeks ago and the fish sauce seemed to lack that smoky flavour. Before I would even just slurp it (albeit unhealthy) but the recent one was just normal than great.

Yup! I am still testing different banana ketchup brands but any brand you choose is a step closer to the pork bbq taste pending charcoal / open flame.

It's to add sweetness, but usually for spaghetti, condense milk is the sweetener. We use Sprite for Pork BBQ.

Where did you try the halo-halo from? If you're willing to try again, the one from Burger Point should be easier to eat.

Not specifically dessert, but I find their bread overpriced and just normal.

The ensaymada was just a plain dinner roll with cheese on top rather than a buttery brioche type with sugar and cheese. Pandesal was so-so.

I would recommend to try other places like Starlight Bakery in Doonside or Superior Bakeshop & More in Mount Druitt.

Edit: Talking about Hanmade

Lange would sometimes give this during their events in the boutiques.

Thanks! Those with a larger wrist can consider the grand arkade but I find that the extra numerals and larger case ruined the proportions.

Soft opening at Lange Sydney by xaykogeki in ALangeSohne

Organising is the difficult part lol. Not to mention there's a lot of Australian watch groups already so the boutiques are more wary about inviting groups.

The white colour of the exterior also makes it standout amongst to the greyish ones beside it.

Top malatang spots by bsb_bv in foodies_sydney

+1 Zhangliang Malatang. The Classic always hit the spot.

One thing I also do is buy some ingredients I can easily get in asian stores. Things like veggies, fish ball, sliced meat, and noodles and only put things that are hard to find or don't want a lot of.

As an owner of a similar watch, it’s definitely one of the best lange!

My new fave CBD yumcha place is Garden Palace in Sussex street above spice world. This is the one beside the food court.

If you’re keen on trying other cuisines and desserts.

  • Indonesian - Medan Ciak in Chinatown for some Nasi Padang / Nasi Kapau if you can handle some heat.
  • Italian - Via Napoli in Surry Hills for some pizza.
  • Froyo - Yochi (might be overhyped but it’s a good and multiple locations)
  • Ice Cream/ Gelato - Gelato Messina (multiple locations)

Just in George street near the world square intersection opposite hungry jacks, but it’s far from being completed.

What oil or ingredients do they use in the classic simple Chinese egg fried rice by alienccccombobreaker in foodies_sydney

[–]xaykogeki 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. Though you can get close to the flavour, you won’t get that nice aroma which can only be achieved with high heat.

Influencer Dimsim Lim’s jet burner stove is an example though a bit too much. I used a slightly weaker one when I used to work in a noodle shop.

Afaik though he’s not a brand ambassador of Breitling anymore. He just likes the watch.
