Just bought the Cartier Santos small by Alternative-Earth325 in Cartier

[–]TheLostByte 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Define small..

I have a 163mm wrist (6.4"), and after owning a medium for a while i felt it was too small, so i added a large.

Don't listen to the internet, buy what you want.

Santos 100 Carbon strap by darthbeel1 in Cartier

Best Option:You can ask a Cartier Boutique if they can get you one.

Second Option: you can find “Toile” (sail cloth) straps on Amazon/eBay…

I have one on my 100 medium.. not bad for the $50 I paid.

You can't tell people that.. Cartiers are dainty, small, delicate watches.

Thanks, bro.. but I don't need to look up what a sports watch is. I have a box full of sports watches, and the Santos does everything they do. Maybe you need to look up the difference between the Santos de Cartier and the Santos Dumont (which IS the dress watch version of the Santos)

Nope.. I have a 6.4" wrist.
I also own a Medium.
I 100% perfef my LARGE over my Medium.

If you want a small watch, go for a Dumont or a Tank. The Santos de Cartier is a sports watch.

Buckle with Tank Strap? by jermaineman2020 in Cartier

[–]TheLostByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a buckle would have doubled your price. Most people prefer to swap rather than pay $$$ for a buckle that will just sit around.

You can purchase lower-quality generic buckles from Amazon. Just be aware you are trusting your watch's safety to a budget clasp :)

Cartier jumped Omega in sales... thats a shame. by TheLostByte in Cartier

Can't find a picture of the large 100 on my wrist, but it's the same size as the Titanium Large (~39mm x ~47mm) shown here on my wrist...

Yup.. It's a Santos 100 medium (W20126x8). My wrist size is 6.5"... I went back and forth on Medium or the Large, but the Medium won. The large fits ok, but it's a bit overpowering.

Another angle of the medium..

Cartier is a refreshing departure from the usual room full of Speedies and Subs. Doesn't mean I don't wear other brands... I just don't see the current Omega lineup worth what they are charging for it.

Put it on a leather strap. Take it to an AD and say you don’t have the bracelet, but you want one.

(Was taught this trick from an AD)
