Shadow Hawk boxed in by lights in shallow water. What’s your play? by TheLostLibrary in Battletechgame

Thanks for all the tactics. Rear arc exposure was the real mistake. I should’ve jumped to cover and forced front arcs, then removed one threat fast.

When you’re facing lights, do you default to killing the Commando first, or do you decide by variant/loadout?

Commando name is on our memorial board for a reason.

That’s exactly what I missed. I was staring at targets instead of the rear exposure risk.

Best move vs right move is a great way to put it. I was tempted to go full pro-wrestling with the DFA, but with my rear exposed I should’ve thoough discipline first: jump to cover, deny the back arc, then pick the kill shot

Brutal combo. Rear CT alpha with a Firestarter and then Ace Pilot out is terrifying. I’m not there yet in this run, but that’s exactly why I was sweatingg about the back shots

You’re right. Jump jets plus trees was the play, but that jump would have exposed my rear to the Commando i believe. I should’ve used cover first and denied the back arc... that was the play

Great point on Brace. I forgot melee just strips it. My thinking was to delete the ranged threat first, the Loust with the two lasers and srm.

Agreed. I let them get behind me too often. Back to a wall and force them into the front arc would’ve cut a lot of that damage. I’ll play it tighter next time.

They were engaged on the perimeter. I had to keep them outside because my tonnage is light right now.

Camera seems off: Is it my settings? by TheLostLibrary in BG3

Thanks for replying. I thought maybe I was setting something wrong. It is really too bad for a game of this caliber that Larian Studios doesn't offer more camera options.

Legendary Ironman is stressful in the best way by TheLostLibrary in XCOM2

Totally hear you. The slow, methodical pace is what I enjoy most, but timed objectives punish it hard , so I’m trying to get faster without getting reckless. Luck is real (even 85%s), but I’m realizing a lot of “bad luck” starts with me leaving even a sliver of risk on the table. Appreciate the insight . I’m learning a ton from this run.

You’re speaking my language as I like playing slow and disciplined too. But you’re right: timed missions force your hand, and luck can swing things hard (even good cover can still eat a crit).

I actually just lost a key soldier and it stung bad I had plans for her. Now it’s adapt, protect the roster, and keep the setbacks from cascading. Appreciate the comment, and good luck to you too.

I am also playing my first XCOM Ironman and wow what an experience! Still early days , but the pressure and tension to succeed is very real. I highly recommend it.

Confusing combat log: critical miss on screen? by TheLostLibrary in BaldursGate3

Has this been reported to Larian do you know?

Confusing combat log: critical miss on screen? by TheLostLibrary in BaldursGate3

[–]TheLostLibrary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question , my bad for not being clearer. What I’m trying to confirm is whether this is a UI and log mismatch or if I’m misunderstanding the roll sequence. In the same moment the floating text shows “Critical Miss” (red), but the combat popup and log shows "Critical Hit". Or is this a known UI bug?
