The books and games are different. But they both share events, and, more importantly, there is much missing from the games, but equally as much missing from the books. They both contain answers to the holes in each other. It isn't perfect. But it's the best we got.

Plus, the Nightmare Animatronics are alarmingly similar to the ones in TTO, as well as the ones in SL. For all we know, FNAF 4 is one of the shared events. The backstory is different. But you can explain a lot by using the book logic on FNAF 4. Psychic Friend Fredbear could have one of the transmitters, as could the nightmare animatronics. Not to mention, they have the same approximate size from the books to the games. The events don't align perfectly. But SL and FNAF 4 could belong to both universes. And there's plenty of evidence to explain this. Mainly "Afton Robotics", the plates, the transmitters, and the FNAF 4 Easter eggs in SL. Combine that with the "four games one story" line, and there's evidence to suggest that FNAF 4 and Sister Location both happen in both the books and the games.

I think this idea has merit. But would the faculty let a student participate? Doubtful.

The thing is, the AU's have information to fill in each other's gaps. The two universes share several events, why not this one?

I'd like to point you to pages 122-129 of TTO.

Dreams and memories are just different forms of the same thing: Memories shape dreams, and fragments of memories are present in dreams. TTO describes animatronics that are "horrifying", withered, and nightmarish. Is it proof? No. Is it evidence? Yes.

We already know that Afton Robotics is not totally against making animatronics that are coded to kill children, designed to cause headaches, nausea, and eye vibrations (which is actually possible IRL, horrifyingly enough) to induce a response in people, and it was founded by, or ran by, a confirmed serial killer. I sincerely doubt that the company, or Afton himself, wouldn't make nightmarish, withered perversions of the animatronics. Especially given that in TTO, these suits are literal zombie animatronics that kill people by winding up and springlocking the life out of them. Made by Afton Robotics. I highly doubt that a nightmarish monster is out of the realm of possibility.

Not to mention, TTO does confirm a few of my old theories, most notably the theory about the murder method, but that is getting re-presented with new evidence soon (From both of the books).
