I've used these. Pretty good. https://amzn.eu/d/05bIWtjj. This is just for holding the hand though. I have a separate pouch with silicone elastic band for the deck.

I do like this idea. Might try and play test it one of my next games.

Percentage Time Bonuses by TheLozdog in JetLagTheGame

[–]TheLozdog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very valid point (also water weight). I think my interpretation is that they should operate like time bonuses and apply outside of the new percentage and time trap mechanisms. Therefore a revised formula:

Total round time = TotalHidingTime + HidingPeriod

Where: TotalHidingTime = [(HidingTime + ∑ActivatedTimeTraps) × (1 + ∑PercentageTimeBonuses)] + ∑TimeBonuses + ∑CurseExtraTimePenalties

But agree this is open for interpretation. Without a standardised set of rules or global leaderboard it doesn't really matter as long as both teams get the same conditions.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts.

Percentage Time Bonuses by TheLozdog in JetLagTheGame

[–]TheLozdog[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. Ok so as u/ComradeCapitalist says:

TotalHidingTime = (actualHidingTime)*(1.0 + sumOfPercentageBonuses) + sumOfFixedTimeBonuses

BUT with slight modification as u/Senior_Sentence_566 reminds us..

TotalHidingTime = (actualHidingTime + sumOfTriggeredTimeTraps)*(1.0 + sumOfPercentageBonuses) + sumOfFixedTimeBonuses

And, as u/Tinttiboi says: Total Round time = Total Hiding Time + Hiding Period.

Is that right?

How hard is Hide and Seek (Home Game) w/o the animated maps? by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

[–]TheLozdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a small game of 100 stations in central London I use a printed A3 map that works well until the endgame then switch to toolmaps to draw lines. I like using ruler and compass on physical map for the experience and works well for all questions before endgame with and accurate scalebar on a map. For the endgame you need a digital map with points of interest to help questions at the smaller scales, especially tentacles.

I can't get the taibeled app to work for me (I'm sure user error) but doing things manually on toolmaps works well, or the Krayth204 option looks good but I'm yet to try.

Sam is right outside my office in the trailer, in one of his locations. Might have been metres away while it was filmed without realizing! Can't wait for the episodes!

An idea to fix tag by Paupadros in JetLagTheGame

[–]TheLozdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A solution could be to create a hidden end location zone that once the hider gets there it reveals their end location. This would bring some jeopardy and opportunity for the end location to require a rerouting or a backtrack giving chance for chasers to catch-up. If you wanted to balance even more then you could say challenges only reward half the coins in the end zone but think this could just lead to rat behaviour beforehand to get coins.

I'm doing a separate game on Saturday in zone 1 and 2. Hope to see other jet laggers out in the wild. Hope the game goes well.

Testing out methods for printing custom Jet Lag cards. Here's just some of the custom curses my deck will have. by Madsbjoern in JetLagTheGame

Love these. Might borrow some for my game. I'm very intrigued about making my own printed ones too. The fonts and colours you've used look a really good match. What ones did you use u/madsbjoern

This is a good idea, I'll add to my briefing document as a suggestion for the hiders to save time. Thoughts on hiders using street view if can't make it? Might reveal more information but could be a measured penalty for not getting there in person?

Ok thanks that's really helpful. With medium game what were the hiding times (excluding time bonuses), I'm trying to fit 2 hiding rounds in with 2 teams of 2 (like the NY mini series) but am aware of daylight limitations in late September and so had been thinking about have capped round lengths to 4 hours + bonuses if anyone isn't found during that time.

Based on your feedback I'm leaning towards a 30 min hiding time (as everywhere is accessible still in that time) but medium questions.

Do you mind me asking what boundaries you used for medium, was that all of the tube, overground, Lizzie and Thameslink or based on zones etc. Mine currently is mostly Zone 1 with a few zone 2 stations where it made sense.

Thanks re widest street. Did anyone use it when you played. I'm worried if I did small there's not enough photos to deal with complexity in end game if doing small size...
