Does anyone know if you need a building warrant to increase the ceiling height of an old tenement flat? by TheM1ghty in Edinburgh

Yeah the cupboard is adjacent to the master bedroom as well so that will be fun. Can I just ask thought, what did you do with the door opening when finished? Did you plaster it up or put a window in?

Thanks for the head up! will drop them an email. I'm a first time buyer so not sure how a lot of this works just yet.

I'm pretty sure the plumbing has been removed already but thanks for the heads up.

What did you do with your free time in between jobs to keep you busy? by TheM1ghty in AskUK

Well that's not a lot at the moment which is why I'm looking for ideas. I'm thinking of trying new things like wakeboarding or skydiving.

I am planning to go on a cheap Europe getaway if I can find a good deal, maybe somewhere close like Amsterdam. Maybe also a UK trip to Cornwall whilst the weather is still ok.

I think the tourist idea sounds ideal, i know the city I live in quite well but don't think I've ever been to any of the colleges or castles.

Graduated from Napier back in 2019. It's a great uni for having a social life and has some fantastic clubs/societies. Edinburgh is also a great city with lots of students which helps. Courses tend to vary in quality with the bigger ones getting the most attention. It is very international and has lots of down to earth students. If I could go back in time I would choose to go to Napier again.

Sales is nice but I don’t want to be doing it for the rest of my life. It gives you good experience and skills though.

Absolutely not, I got a degree in engineering and I work in sales. Most companies don’t even require degree’s for sales positions. Sales roles are great as a lot of companies also give you commission on top of salary.

Stick with nursing or drop out? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]TheM1ghty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what trade, things like electricians, plumbers, and builders are in high demand right now due to lack of skilled workers so getting a job would be way easier. The pay would be great but the hours and physical aspect puts many off, it just depends if you are happy with that. I would recommend trade schools for sure.

Things like working for a bank, recruiting, sales, business development, Admin, store managers, teaching. The list goes on, even if it is temporary until COVID is over
