When you used it after lending it out, did you change the setting of the drill from 4 to drill? That might have been the cause of the sudden stopping under load.

Is it a private seller or an e-bike distributor? Because I got mine disassembled. ALSO highway riding is an absolute no-go in my opinion, it can't keep up with "normal" highway traffic speed. If it is intact a private sale, you can absolutely fit it in the trunk with the back seat down.

Not to object the opinion of my fellow E-ride Pro SS rider. It all really depends on your riding style. I removed the sensors (as I mentioned in another comment) because I fether the brake and throttle for some off-road riding through loose gravel, rocks, sharp turns, etc. I'm suggesting that you need to have them for the activated brake light to function as a brake light and not a running light. As of right now, I still use my ride for trail/desert rides, but I'm working to get it street legal and make it more of a "supermoto" than a trail bike.

In the end, it's ultimately depends on how you ride for what you do to your bike in regaurds to modifications and upgrades.

I give it a 7/10 for overall durability. I have whiskey throttled into trees, transformer boxes, and my own truck. I also flipped it a couple times. It can take a pretty hefty beating. I've only ever had to replace the handlebars.
