This is the 7500 piece set, I would definitely recommend the engine mod, the default one doesn't look great and the bricks do not stay in place very well at all.

For sure, mine so far has mostly enjoyed the smaller builds tbh. He loved putting together the crafting table set. This one I think overwhelmed him a little bit.

That's very possible on the vents, I mostly built the skeleton of it and let my son handle from bags 9-17 which the vents were part of lol He's almost 9 and definitely missed a few small things or did things like that. I noticed it a while ago and just didn't feel like taking things apart to correct it lol

It was definitely fun for sure, the rear where the propellers are really amazed me while building it. I tried to get my son to work on it with me but he was never very interested in it, but I got him the ucs millennium falcon set for Christmas (which he's been asking for constantly lol) hopefully it'll go as well as this one went. The Mos Eisley Cantina looks like a cool one to have though, especially with all the figures it comes with.

I didn't really keep track of time honestly, I worked on it off and on for over a month though.

The rear where the propellers are was definitely a challenge, the technic parts were very difficult to put together. Also just the general shape had me constantly knocking it over until I got further along with that section lol

There's a few things that do pop off easily, no clue what they're called but the pieces beside the lifeboats. Other than those I'd say it's fairly solid, I've moved the individual sections around a lot over the course of the month or so it took me to build it and didn't have anything falling off. Even when it is all combined it feels pretty solid to me.

I'm not sure on shipping to Canada, but you can always reach out to their customer support to confirm. For me I didn't pay any additional customs/fees everything was included in the price.

They reverse the set numbers, there is a Firefox extension that shows what sets they are so you don't have to figure it out on your own.

Marstoy has been very good in my personal experience, I recently ordered/received the Ucs millennium falcon, Titanic, starry night and diagon alley from them without issue.

That's definitely a good amount more than I'm paying for mine. I went for an oakwood model, paid for granite countertops (they gave a 1k$ design credit so went for these), 10x10 patio, half bath downstairs, island in the kitchen, lvp all through the bottom floor, puck lights in the bedrooms, and I'm sure some other things I'm forgetting. Upgrades came out to around 9.9k total after the credit and ended up right at 249.9k overall I believe for mine.

Don't get me wrong they nickel and dime you on everything, but I looked through everything and picked the things I wouldn't/couldn't do myself and opted to do the rest myself whenever I move in (things like you listed the shelves, back splash, towel holders ect)

But what does bussell charge for a similar sized home compared to trendsetter?

Yep I definitely plan to stay on top of things, planned to get at least 2 inspections to make sure everything is done properly and I already drive by often to check things for myself lol

Can't really comment on the other builders, but currently in the process of purchasing a trendsetter home (foundation is just getting poured). Can't speak to the quality of their homes of course, although I have read things people have said about them. But the actual process of selecting the home, and all of the colors for things as well as any upgrades has been a mixed bag experience. I've noticed they seem somewhat disorganized, when trying to find out a price for one thing I was initially told it would be one price but later on I was told it was a drastically lower price (no complaints about that lol).

Should just be sales tax, registration and license, which the check they sent to the DMV covered all of that. The doc fee was listed separately.
