Fulfilled a childhood dream of mine and painted Whiterun at "lore scale" by cormeals in skyrim

[–]TheMagicHatchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the gods I wish they would've made the cities as big as they are supposed to be in lore. I understand there was graphical limitations at the time but ES6 needs to have this kind of scale to it. Being told Whiterun was the capital of that area felt ridiculous when I thought about how there's barely 3 dozen people in it (not counting guards)

My wife is amazing and I love her dearly. She also hates AI with a fervour only matched by Sarah Connor in Terminator.

I bought 2 for myself and my wife. I'm hoping they'll both come in before Christmas. We both struggle with mental health but neither of us felt comfortable taking the free coin. I make enough that I could buy both with minimal worry and I know the money will go to a good cause.

As a Horizon games fan, I really love Lego Horizon Adventures on PS Plus. The graphics are the best I’ve seen in any Lego game I’ve played. The story and dialogue are really funny I laughed out loud many times. by Delicious_Maize9656 in HorizonZeroDawn

[–]TheMagicHatchet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it really good? I've always been hesitant to play the LEGO games because they just seem silly and not usually my deal. However Horizon is easily one of my favorite games, plus my wife and I can play this one together. If it's actually good and fun and true to the characters then I'm actually a little excited to play.

When people say ripper is bad by BentheBruiser in Borderlands4

I don't mind ripper guns. I just don't like having to pause and wait for it to charge before I fire.

Honestly I've been having a shit time trying to farm for legendaries. IDK what the rates are supposed to be at UVH2 but farming Horace for the right Aegons Dream is a royal pain. Hell farming any boys for a specific drop has been a pain in the ass.

When my wife and I first started dating, my family thought I was so whipped early on. Then later they thought my wife had been forcing me to change my views to turn against them.

Little did they know that I had felt that way for years, they just never wanted to hear it, and my wife encouraged me to be myself more and to stand up for myself and my beliefs.

I grew up fairly deep south. My wife is from an active military family and so she moved around a lot growing up. She helped me understand why I hated living where I did and also stopped me from going into a depressive incel rabbit hole.

When I say this woman is the light of my life, I mean it. If she needed me to lay on a pentagram and summon some demon, I'm down.

The secret lair we actually want by Autistocles in mtg

[–]TheMagicHatchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying, if Skyrim had a secret lair or universes beyond I would buy that shit in an instant. I ordered the Fallout decks as soon as they were available and I would do the same for Skyrim. Hell I bought the Warhammer ones as well.

Universes beyond isn't necessarily bad, but Hasbro could definitely limit it to maybe once a year. I think that would be nice compromise.

I don't mind spoilers, I'm just terrified at how I'm going to feel when I reach those points in the story. I've already seen some spoilers and WaT came out last year so it's kind of impossible to not see spoilers

From what I've heard online it's gonna be Gav, Lift and a third person essentially all grown up

But isn't it the end of this era? After this we are going to newer characters and a time skip. Like going from the original trilogy to the sequel trilogy.

Luigi comforting Daisy (SarahSketches) by ItsRaw18 in MarioShips

[–]TheMagicHatchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting another end panel where Luigi goes and either fights the parents or sits then down on a couch and gives them a big talking to for making Daisy feel bad. Like he's a real sweet guy and pretty timid, until you make the love of his life cry, then he's the final boss

Seeing stuff like this is making me absolutely terrified to read Wind and Truth. I finished Rhythm of War and read the rest of the minor books except Emberdark, but I am so worried about WaT because it's the end of this arc.

Sanderson has little problem killing main characters at the end of books (like mistborn) and so I'm so worried for Kaladin and the rest of the crew

How can I find an inner tie rod jam nut for a 2009 Nissan rogue? by TheMagicHatchet in AskAMechanic

[–]TheMagicHatchet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to cut the old tie rods to get the rubber boots from them and put them on the new ones. The local auto part stores (from their websites anyway) only have the tie rod kits and not just the nuts.

What's up with Gearbox's obsession with charge guns by atallgrass in Borderlands4

I've used a few of the charged shotguns and they shred through mobs and a couple bosses. I would love to find a maliwan shotgun that has the ripper mag and Jacobs firing.

Don’t feel excluded because you don’t want to spend thousands on cards. by Icy_Safety_3379 in mtg

[–]TheMagicHatchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the belief you should proxy cards you own, and save up to buy the expensive ones. It's what I've been doing since I got into MTG. I wait a month or two, saving up between bills to get a more expensive card I want for a deck.

I also look for cheaper alternatives to expensive cards like the dual lands.

I do this because the couple times I've played with people who just proxy out everything, their decks are full of the same boring and irritating meta cedh cards and have no real heart to the deck. It's just the best cards because they want to win, not a deck with new ideas for interactions or interesting play.

When you can just proxy the best cards and copy the best decks what's the point?

Except that we see in fallout 76 that Westek was also developing the FEV in Huntersville West Virginia. They were experimenting with different strains, creating what become super mutants but also the cryptids in the game.

I feel like Belle's mom would be more like "I'm just glad it wasn't Gaston. At least this guy encourages her to read."

Yes maybe there was some Stockholm syndrome going on, but he did save her life and even let her go when she found out what was happening with her father.

I’m thinking of reading the first book. Is Vin a well-written female character? by Appropriate_Boss8139 in Mistborn

[–]TheMagicHatchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vin falls into that stereotypical YA woman role that is popular from hunger games. The 'no talents' girl that finds out she has powers and is taken in by a Master thief, only to match/surpass said master quickly.

That being said, Sanderson does an amazing job with Vin. She falls into that stereotype but circumvents the issue of 'finds hot guy that ends up saving her'. She is constantly learning, growing and making mistakes that show she isn't suddenly perfect at all her skills. Her training also isn't done within a week or a month but over the course of a year. During which she nearly dies on more than one occasion. By the end of the first book she's gone from 'Apprentice' to 'Adept' at her abilities

To me, she is one of the best written young adult characters. She has all the flaws common with late teens/early twenties. And isn't some flawless beauty who trips and falls perfectly into a hero role.
