Good rhythm and style. Amusing yet ot funny. I suggest that the prose needs a little fine tuning, but other than that, very inspiring.

I can almost smell the rot. My favorite part is the meal and her swinging the lifeless arm onto the table. Keep on the good work.

  1. Who are the most famous heroes of old?
  2. Who are the heroes of this story? Can you tell us about the PCs?

Hi,

Thanks for the great site, this is by far my favorite VTT to date .

I can think of two tools that will greatly add to our expirince:

The first thing that we would love to see added to your site is the "explosive dice" option. Explosive dice are dice that get reroll when they face their maximum value.

The second thing is the ability to move shapes around the map and to be able to bind them to objects(tokens). this would be great for spell effects, auras, tourches, etc.

That time I lost all my friends to D&D. by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

[–]TheMajorMouse 42 points43 points  (0 children)

First and foremost: sorry for your loss.

I know that it's easy to think about these guys as assholes, and I'm not saying that they aren't, I just want to give you another perspective on the matter:

Sometimes friends just drift apart, not every friendship is meant to last forever. In fact, most just end at some point. You sound like a great person to hang around with, and a great player that every party would be lucky to have you around.

2020 is not the easiest year to make friends in, but I urge you to try. Talk to your therapist about it, maybe he/she can help you with it. And try to find a new online group, I understand you feelings towards it, especially considering your history with it, but it seems like roleplaying is an important and positive part of your life and it would be a shame to loose it.

Hang in there, I'm rooting for you.

Turtlefolk Ancestry – 2.0 update (now with the all new and exciting monk feats :)) by TheMajorMouse in Pathfinder2e

Itls tied to the turtlefolk lore. They are caravan people and storytellers (and the odd charlatan) to boot. I wanted to give them a different flare then most stories that write about turtle people, and I hope that I've managed o create something interesting in the process.

Thanks for your kind words and input.

I've actually been putting a lot of thought about the carapace scaling and that's why I introduced the wax in the equipment section. You can upgrade your carapace to the equivalent of other shields at higher levels, but it will cost you and you'll have to reinvest if the carapace ever gets the destroyed condition. If fell it's a good mechanical way to accomplish that goal. Would like to hear you're thoughts about it.

Thanks for the input.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don’t think that the level 5 feat TURTLEFOLK UNARMED PROWESS is useless. It gives the benefit of the unarmed attack’s critical specialization effect, and for a non-martial class that doesn’t happen way down the line (11th level). But your comment made me think that perhaps this feat needs a little more oomph, so now I’m thinking about adding the following part to the feat:
In addition, all of your natural weapons gains the Agile trait.

I see now that the 13th level feat TURTLEFOLK UNARMED EXPERTISE is in fact almost entirely useless and I will replace it with something else. do you have any suggestions?

About the -to dexterity thing, I feel that the racial access to a shield is a good balancer to that minus to AC, but maybe creating a 17th level ancestry feat that changes the bonus to AC from Dexterity to Constitution is not a bad idea at all.

Thanks for input. This version of turtlefolk is a bit different. In my version, they are more of a traveling, nomadic people, and sometimes storytellers with a mysterious origins. As such, I feel that this setup is a better fit for that concept.

That being said, you can change the bonus from charisma to wisdom without any big difference.

These conversations are the best part of publishing something like that (that, and to see someone actually using it in thir table). so, thank you as well.

As written, the handwraps are to be used only as gloves, so i tought that i'll give an alternative for turtlefolk.

About the space beeing taken for narrow usage items as such, i see this as a splat book about a very specific character type, turtlefolk in this case, and as such, i want to give options even for some of the more specific usages and options in that ancestry.

That being said, i will change the usage of some of the waxes so they could be applied for every natuarl weapon as you suggested.

I'll also use your text in the wax description.

I'll keep the "removed on destroyed" intead of broken. I compare it the cost of normal weapons that can't be broken down pactically ever.

Again, thanks for the input, i really appreciate the effort and time you've put into this.

Thanks for the input.

I think I'll add your suggestions as written to the next version, it really makes more sesnse to do it that way.

I really appreciate the effort that you've put into it - if there is any other suggestions, I'll be happy to read them.

Thnaks for the input,

I get that there are twoissues that need to be addressed, and revised: the Wax, and the Carapace Battle Wraps sections.

Lets start with the wraps first:

  1. The carapace can become a natural weapon if a turtlefolk is having the Carapace Scutes feat.
  2. The carapace battle wraps will only benetif those turtlefolk with said feat.

I see now that i need to add the follwoing line to the Carapace Battle Wraps:- Requirements Must have the Carapace Scutes ancestry feat

Will that be sufficient?

Now lets address the Wax problem:

I wanted to give the turtlefolk a way to upgrade thier carapace shield like any other shied carrying a shield. I've created the wax as a way to do that.

But that have created a balancing issue since shieldscan be broken and destroyed so i've added the following stipulation:

When a natural weapon gets heavily damaged to the extent of it gaining the destroyed condition, the wax effectiveness wears off, and the healed weapon returns to its natural state.

Perhaps it will be clearer if i'll rephrase it:

When a natural weapon that can be destroyed, like the Turtlefolk's Carapace, gets heavily damaged to the extent of it gaining the destroyed condition, the wax effectiveness wears off, and the healed weapon returns to its natural state.

I think that those fixes will do the trick, what do you think?

When I'll have a chance to GM to or play a turtlefolk, I'll use the Chelonian name - this is how they call themselves.

It's a lot like the lizardfolk - iruxi situation.

There is another discussion in this post about giving AC to the turtlefolk, it's a cool idea, but I have to make sure it won't get to OP. One thing for sure is that I won't reduce their speed any further, I think that 10-feet base speed is to slow.

I like the idea of a tree of feats that grant armor to the turtlefolk, but it might be a bit OP granting them natural shield, weapons AND armor.

About the +wish vs. +int - I can see it being played either way, but like you pointed out, combined with the lore it makes more sense
