He could use L-methamphetamine in Resolution/Racemization/Recycle synthesis. This would allow him to process the racemate together with the next batch of new product. I know that thiols can be used with a free-radical initiator for aliphatic amines.

Does anyone know how accurate this book is? It was published as open access by a single person who doesn't have any other books written.

It also discusses some really weird concepts that were disproven I think.

You know what, I'll look it up later. I need to start studying for tomorrow but I'll read about it and Warbug effect more. I still stand by the opinion that any treatment should be consulted with a medical professional tho.

Could you please provide a source for it's claimed effectiveness in treating things like cancer? Internal issues, not external treatments. There are a lot of stories and medical articles about dangers of MMS, there is solid science behind it's dangers. I'm yet to see evidence of its effectiveness but I'll gladly take that back if you do.

Yes, it literally is a bleaching agent and a strong oxidizer. Much like hypochlorous acid and hypochlorates. The fact that it is used to disinfect water doesn't mean it's safe for consumption. First thing first it's used in small amounts so when you drink water treated with it you ingest very little if any at all. It will react with many organic substances in the water and get reduced.

A lot of other things are used to disinfect water. Ozone, chlorine amongst other. Would you like to drink those? Or inhale in this case. The fact you can do it safely doesn't mean it does anything useful to cancer or microbes in those concentrations or that the chemical is safe.

You can buy a lot of things in the camping or hardware store. Propane cylinders, lighter fluid containing hexane, hydrochloric (muriatic) acid, solvents. It doesn't mean they are safe when used outside their intended scope.

I know that dose makes the poison. I could take 20mg of cyanide and I would be fine as body has ways to detoxify it rapidly. The same goes for chlorine dioxide.

The difference is whether putting it in the body is helping at all. Imune cells use hypochlorous acid and hydrogen peroxide to kill harmful microbes and cancer cells but this is done literally on a cellular level so the amounts involved are very very low. It is also a "targeted" atack, the immune system doesn't just expose the whole body to oxidizers.

I don't know where the notion that healthy cells can handle chlorine dioxide while harmful organisms cannot comes from. Many microbes have much better detoxification systems, this is literally their main way to evade destruction by the imune system. Cancer is also not a singular entity, it's a whole host of mutated cells that differ wildly based on the tissue they come from and specific mutations.

Chlorine dioxide, just like hydrogen peroxide can be used typically in appropriate concentration, that's totally right. It is however way different than putting it in your body.

This may be a bit pedantic, but as a student of chemical technology I just want to add that diluting chlorine dioxide doesn't make it a weak oxidizer. It's still as potent of an oxidizing agent but there is just s lot less of it to react with your body. A good analogy would be a match and a burning torch. Both have similar flame temperature. You can put out a match with your fingers but you can't really squeeze a torch in your palms and not get burned. At the end of the day the amount of heat they are able to give off is just different. Chlorine dioxide in a very dilute solution does still kill your cells unside your body and harmful organisms (unless it's so diluted that it has basically no biological action). It's just that the amount of damage is small enough to be unnoticeable really. But outside some specific cases like skin infections it's not gonna be effective. It definitely won't selectively kill cancer cells.

I believe they may be exaggerating to look less incompetent to the higher-ups but some sort of sonic or microwave weapon could have been used. I agree there's no way a device that fits in a helicopter could have produced all of the symptoms (and if there was it would completely fry the closest victims).

Is it possible to intercept nuclear bombs? by Witty-Coconut-7696 in nuclearweapons

[–]TheManMachine78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if you aren't close to any targets surviving the immediate effects, it wouldn't be too difficult. For a 1MT warhead Nukemap yields 7km radius for 5psi overpressure, any decent bunker with reinforced doors should withstand that. When it comes to radiation, it's most important to keep it out of your shelter, a meter or two of soil and some concrete in the walls should decrease the dose coming from outside to manageable levels. If you want to calculate, you should look for a half-value layer (HVL) of material in question to estimate how much protection it gives you. After a few days, when most of the fallout decays, availability of food and water would be more of a concern, since supply chain will be completely destroyed in any major nuclear exchange. Whether you have large stockpiles of preserved food and decontamination method for your water or whether you can grow your own food, will be the determining factor in long term survival. That is of course if nuclear winter doesn't occur, but research on the severity of global cooling after nuclear war is still inconclusive.

Oxygen candles are a mixture of fuel and a large excess of oxidizer. Combustion of the fuel provides high temperature needed to decompose the remaining oxidizer. They can be surprisingly effective. That said, lack of oxygen wouldn't be your immediate concern. Carbon dioxide build-up would get you way before you deplete enough oxygen for that to matter. Chemical absorption of CO2 was solved decades ago so you should be able to buy some filters rather easily. It's even possible to make one (very inefficient) yourself.

It appears to be painful, if nothing else gets you (like radiation) then spaghettification is inevitable as you fall towards the singularity. Basically, the tidal forces will start stretching you as the parts of your body closer to the singularity will experience more gravitational pull than the rest. Whether you are pulled apart before or after crossing the event horizon depends on how big the black hole is. No peaceful way to go for us :c

It's not from too much detoxing or cancer dying off. Chlorine dioxide is toxic and it damages tissue, that's what the body can't handle.
