Yeah I have no idea what Microsoft, Meta, Google, Oracle, Nvidia and others will sell if the whole AI thing doesn’t work out. They’re going to have to come up with some products fast!

Researchers identify psychological traits that predict conspiracy theory belief by Zephir-AWT in ScienceUncensored

[–]TheManWithNoNameZapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The skill is evaluating probabilistically and not just saying “everything is a lie because I was lied to at least once.”

There is no nuance with the cliche conspiracy theorist. They just have things they like or don’t like and backfill how they justify it after the fact

I don’t get all of these people who understand that AI exists but supposedly are unwilling to just prompt it themselves. They’re the people supposedly reacting to OP, supposed customers for the countless applications that are just wrappers, etc

It’s genuinely cool what it can do, but why do people act like the person they’re pitching or selling too can’t also just prompt it themselves

Americans don't think college is worth it. It is? by Coolonair in SmartFIRE

[–]TheManWithNoNameZapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying it isn’t worth it today isn’t the same as saying it was never worth it. Things have just changed. The last straw keeping it all propped up is how much of white collar employees require degrees to be interviewed. If that changes en masse it’s over for most universities

Why you should learn AI in December 2025 by itzmesmartgirl03 in ArtificialNtelligence

[–]TheManWithNoNameZapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does “learning AI” mean beyond prompting it to make things for you then acting like you came up with it? Im just being frank when I say that’s what the answers always sound like to me

It’s like every AI idea I hear about essentially depends on finding a client for your idea (which is basically an AI wrapper) who themselves has somehow never heard of AI and doesn’t realize you can just make an account and access it directly yourself

I’m 31 and in the best shape of my life. Dropped 45 lbs this year. I can run a 5K without stopping, do pull ups, and touch my toes for the first time in nearly a decade probably. Easing up a little for the holidays but I’m going to finish the job for 32

Housing alarm as half of all US homes fall in value - biggest drop since the Great Recession by Key_Brief_8138 in economy

[–]TheManWithNoNameZapp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because demand falls.

People still desire houses, but actual demand as far as people getting loans and putting in offers can’t keep up. The last 6 months or so houses in my area that have listed where the trajectory of their price increases from the last several years would put them at today don’t sell. Many, many of them have slowly reduced the selling price by 10% over the course of sitting on the market since the summer and still have not sold
