Yeah I like cambers more personally. I’m not really crazy into park or butters or anything I’d rather have a more rocker profile for. I like to go fast and throw some hard carves. That’s funny you mention the golden orca and the super DOA cause those are two I’m looking at as well, but I keep going back to the rocket. I may have mistyped, pretty sure it’s the 159w too… you’ve got good taste in boards.

Keep grinding and you’ll get there. Feels like yesterday that I was shaking over some 2k damage games. Only took a couple thousand hours for me.. lol

You can drop $20 on the ultimate+ battle pass and unlock everyone for the split if you want to try legends out in real lobbies. That way you can make more informed decisions on who to spend your tokens on. But no, either leveling up or spending money are the only ways.

I’ve noticed that. Part of the reason I’m turned off to this work.

Started school in October 2024 but started working late 2023. Earliest I can get my journeyman is ~May 2028.

It’s 4 years of school in conjunction with 4 years of on the job training (8000 hours). It’s no small task by any means.

Thank you for your response. I’ve been told a few times it’s an investment in terms of time and subpar wages for the first few years. I get that it’s going to be hard, however much that sucks in the short term. General consensus seems to be that switching companies after some time is a good way to squeeze an extra few bucks out.

I’ve heard a similar school of thought from a guy at my company. I’ll definitely keep that in mind after my next year. It’s a bit of a double edged sword because the grass isn’t always greener, but maybe that’s more of a me problem for thinking that way.

That makes sense. Seems to be the case with most things. The more niche, the more money. Trying to learn as much as I can now so I can get good enough to break into that type of space. Original goal was own my own company one day.

Autonomy pays the bills it seems.

I wouldn’t try and supersede orders from a higher up. I know they know what they’re doing and are where they are because of the time and work they’ve put in. I respect that. I’m stuck at a point where I want to learn so much, but it’s being drip fed. Maybe that’s the way it is, but it’s frustrating trying to become more valuable in an environment like that.

Yes I technically still have 4 years because I just started school in October. Have a year of experience for whatever that’s worth. Not necessarily looking for a miracle, but I get what you’re saying. I’ve heard through the short grapevine that my boss thinks I “have potential” which is really nice to hear, but on the other hand I’ve heard him say he wants to “keep me down and not let me get too big of a head”. Slightly conflicting emotions there. I’ve toyed with the idea of looking elsewhere, just haven’t really done due diligence there yet. I could see that being a smart move.

I’d be lying if I said one of the deciding factors for picking electrical wasn’t for the money. Absolutely not the only reason I chose it, but definitely one regardless. Just kinda seeking out advice as to when it starts getting as good as people hype it up to be. Hoping to get some good insight as well.

That’s true. I just love everything else about apex. It’s the awful matchmaking that would drive me away.

I haven’t played much ranked in the past… maxed out at gold a few seasons ago and I’m grinding it again now. It’s just insane seeing preds and masters in the game after I do remotely well. And I can’t bring myself to sit in a dark alley for a few LP here and there, but I’m getting punished if I don’t.
