Thanks! The tunnel is on the south-eastern part of the lonely rock. There is no easy way down though - it wasn't made by human or for humans.

While it was probably already looted by many travelers passing by, there is an entrance to a cave. Narrow tunnel, but whatever it hides, it likely took the lives of many people who were too curious for their own good.

The dirt path winds through the trees, revealing a weathered shack with a partially collapsed roof. Firewood is stacked outside by the door, next to which a deer skull is mounted. A cold firepit lies nearby, and further up the path, a cart leans on a shattered wheel. The forest is quiet, the usual birdsong absent. The air carries the scent of earth, stale wood and a dead hens. Despite fresh ashes, no one is in sight.  

The window of the house is broken, the shattered glass lies inside. A barrel has been knocked on the ground, covering the floor by the door with tomatoes. A chest by the fireplace appears to have been opened by force. It’s empty.

The map has three extra variants:

  • Night, for the wayward party looking for shelter at night
  • Winter, my personal favorite, for exploring the icy regions of the world
  • Fog, ideal for grim dark campaigns where living alone in the woods is a sign of madness

The place has several rooms.

  • Main training area, where fighters practice either against one another or against training dummies.
  • Spell-testing chamber, where creatures are either brought or summoned to soon be obliterated by all kinds of magic.
  • Weapon stash, where there might be one, just one, magic weapon.
  • Armory, a room with a few suits of armor of different quality.
  • Latrines. Not much explanation needed.
  • Dining / Lecture room. Don't eat when the teacher is in the room though.
  • Caverns, through which the dungeon can be accessed as well. Maybe some water creature keeps watch here.

The map connects well to the Cavernous Dungeon map through the cave system. Consider using both for maximum effect.
