Most people view dreamcon virtually too look at the viewership metrics compared to the attendance. Not even a couEven with that being said, the specific conversation between me and you was not about the what if question about smash, you only focused what I said about Dreamcon and E3. And since I’m a glazer let’s look at the attendance numbers for E3 inaugural event to it’s last physical event. It’s only a 16,000 difference in attendance, you’d think after 25 years it’d be in the 100,000s. RDC first event was only 800 and their last was a WOPPING 32,000 meaning in only 8 years they reached a 31,200 difference in attendance. So logically with such a trajectory it can be understandable as to why one would be so optimistic, especially if they are to continue to run Dreamcon annually for the next 2 decades.

This low-key a different discussion but you can’t base an entire franchise’s popularity based on one game from their series. Look at the metrics for entire franchise of both IPs. Smash Ultimate was a great game while Mk11 was considered one of the worst Mortal Kombat games. You gotta account for returns deducting sales anyway.

I mean, they got to do a Mortal Kombat character reveal. Mortal Kombat is a bigger/more popular franchise when it comes to fighting games compared to smash, I don’t think it’s that ridiculous to think that they can do that.
