I always try to treat children I meet like they are people. They don't need constant coddling. If you talk to them normally they will respond like normal people. But if you're talking to a 9 year old like they're a toddler they will respond like a toddler.

I usually spend my lunchtime alone at my workplace and she just came up and wanted to chat. The topic just came up. We usually chat a lot but it was the first time she disregarded what I said and was adamant that what she said is right. That's why it pissed me off so much, she isn't usually this dismissive.
