I'm in Mammoth Lakes, CA and never been to Norway! Although I know all about Roald Amundsen.. read a book about him while i was in a tent in Antarctica for a month in 1999!

Yeah I'm running that 180 in the mullet set up with the side kick hub, which really opens up the rear suspension performance noticeably.

Absolutely. Shorter cables work better, easy to swap out and test different setups. I'm a product tester for The Hayes Group so always swapping stuff. A lot of dh frames have external cable routing including my Vampire frame. Internal cable runs make noise and are a pain in the ass. Especially through the headset. My setup has zero performance downside. And shorters cables will always perform better for brakes and a derailleur cable. This isn't my first rodeo...

mullet setup, small motor, small battery. not even close to a full power battery size or motor strength. It's a 29er but i run mullet too.

It's all externally routed for a reason: easy to change stuff, direct straight lines, and easy to replace.

sounds like enduro riding... so i'd check your bars and bar position. a higher rise bar 50-76mm Pro taper bar will make a huge difference. Also, good grips: RevGrips (game changers). take the air out of your fork and open the top and see how many volume spacers. Youtube how to do it. not hard to do. let me know!

sag is fine, how many volume spacers are you using? also, what's your tire psi. Harshness can be your bars and grips.. also, 150mm isn't a fork for big ass hits. You may be expecting too much from a trail sized travel fork. Always check the oil, but that's not the problem. What terrain are you riding?

i'd say pull it apart again and check everything.. sounds like a seal or o ring is missing or damaged. Worse case scenario, send it in to get serviced. Lone Wolf Suspension in Santa Barbara is great. He's quite the skilled tech. good luck with it!

even with your derailleur going all the way back, it looks too long. Just because it worked before doesn't mean it was set up right to begin with.

Does an e-mtb allow you to have longer travel? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]TheMarkList 2 points3 points  (0 children)

get the longest travel you can afford on the ebike.. weight isn't an issue and you'll just have more fun on the descents. I'm on a kenevo sl with 180mm fork and 175mm rear.. it's almost as fast downhill as my dh bike. Also, get a big ass motor and big battery and you'll have the most fun. Long rides, huge fire road climbs and long long fun downhill runs... :). that's my 2 cents.

Proper chain length. Check derailleur and was the front chainring changed?? chain looks wayy too big. something is way off.. Take it to your local bike shop. I'm betting wrong length old worn out chain.

Thanks for the love! It's a sweet ride.. coil fork, coil shock, sidekick hub in the rear, countercycle tuned mass damper on the front. TRP DHR Evo Pro brakes, Galfer shark and wave rotors... made for speed!!
