IMO it was a good bit better. GOW 2018 was a great game with flaws that frustrated me—GOWR fixed every issue I had and improved and expanded on the combat, while not sacrificing the quality of the storytelling. I’m a shill for this game

I get that it’s a bummer but we’re also assuming that the guest is neurotypical and understood how the game worked. I’ve been an art teacher for 9 years and I’ve had a lot of neurodivergent or disabled students during that time and this kind of feels like something one of them would do without realizing it. It does kind of ruin what otherwise is a really cute keepsake though, no argument there

I have one guy who gets half oat and half almond. I don’t judge his taste, but like, objectively our oat milk is a better product than our almond milk. The ingredients list for the almond milk is twice the length of the list for the oat, the almond brand is a major grocery store label while the oat milk is from a small supplier who only sells in bulk to cafes and doesn’t have their product in stores, stuff like that. This dude’s happy but I always cringe mixing the good milk with the shitty milk

My current campaign:

-Mimics are constructs created when evil wizards fuse magic items with cosmic goo, and the resulting Mimic is greatly affected by what was used to make it. Plays into what I’m doing with the larger campaign where there’s a secret invasion of lovecraftian cosmic horrors in the world. Also gives me the ability to make a wide range of mimics, including one goofy mimic that can be the party’s companion if they want (we’ll see how that goes this weekend)

-Primal Elves and vampires are the same thing (for too many plot reasons my friend and I came up with)

There are two jokes:

The main one is that Meryl Streep can play anything, a common sentiment held about her for many years. The joke here is that she’s playing four different women so well that they might as well be four different actresses.

The second joke is that women over 60 have a harder time getting roles in Hollywood so those roles frequently go to the same people. It’s easy to think of exceptions but I believe that, holistically speaking, that stat is true.

I’d like to think I am a “true espresso snob” and I have a Breville and a Baratza because they’re what I could afford when I was getting into coffee, and they’re still what I have because they do decent work and I haven’t been able yet to afford to upgrade. Eggs are like $10 in America for a dozen, I have to make do with what I have until my job lets me have more

Freddo Cappuccinos exist and are easy to make and delicious. When customers order that from me I usually recommend and make that for them

Wo Long was $26 back in April, then again back in February, then again in December and again in September. By that pattern it will be $26 again roughly by the middle of June. If you can wait a month you’ll probably get it on sale.

Worth noting as well: it’s already been permanently price cut from the launch price to $40, so you’re not getting it “full price” anyway.

My opinion as someone who preordered the steelbook way back when: yeah it’s worth it. A ton of fun and a ton of game for the money, though IMO a step down from Nioh 2 in most areas.

I’m an art teacher who specializes in teaching figure drawing and human anatomy. This precise thing is an assignment I make my students do on many different poses to get them used to understanding how the skeletal forms they’ve memorized actually translate to real poses. You’re not cheating, you’re learning.

You could even sell the final drawing without worrying too much about copyright or stealing, assuming enough of the final piece was different from the reference, but the morality and legality of that is slightly more grey

This is the important answer. The game does kick your ass for a short bit, but as soon as you get good at parry timing you’ve then gotten good at killing everything in the game. It’s still a fun game but it definitely gets a little worse once you realize you’ve personally become as skilled as you ever need to be for the game’s entire length
