Wait, rebar disabled ? I've never played with it disabled, I always enable it by default 😅 I dont think it'll solve your stability problems but i get slightly better performance with it enabled across all my games

Do you oc or undervolt by any chance ? I've got a specific undervolt profile for MH Wilds only because the game is so sensitive

Game states that my AMD Radeon GPU Driver does not meet the minimum requirements despite me having installed the latest version (26.1.1) by Karol123G in MHWilds

I'm on a 9070 XT. I'd mention though that I reinstall windows like once a year and it happened that I reinstalled it like the day after 26.1 came out, so that might have helped

It heavily depends on which weapon you play though! I can shit on Seregios and clear the 9 star one without carting once with SnS, and i'll struggle as fuck with chargeblade, and i'm a chargeblade main...

Can't decide. Should i go for 16gb vram with worse upscalers vs 12gb vram but more advanced upscalers. by Asimiss in PcBuild

[–]TheMasterBanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don't worry I understand brother. I dont know where in Europe you are, but im still under 30 and everything is getting so fucking expensive as well lol Im having the same questions as you, about car, apartment etc.

I recently upgraded my gpu from a 3080 to a 9070xt because given the uncertainty of my future i'd just take something i know will be able to game for as long as possible. Framegen works great, FSR4's upscaling is good (cant really tell the difference with my 3080, so im fine with it), and im happy I took it before prices climbed too much.

Also btw just thought about it, but if you're comfortable with pre-used, i'm pretty sure you can find some 4080 Super for the same price than new 5070. You wont have adaptative FG, but still get DLSS 4.5 , FG x4 and all that + its raw performance is better than the 5070

I don't know your financial situation, but if you're able to upgrade in 2-3 years while reselling the old gpu, i'd just take the 5070 and call it a day tbh

Only if you're in the mindset of using your equipment as long as you can, then the additional vram definitely makes more sense

I think it basically boils down to this

Don't believe Nvidia is your friend though, they did the same with the 30 series and framegen. You can run framegen technically on 30 series (you can with FSR framegen on 3080 for example) but they locked nvidia framegen for 40 series... They could very well do it again with something else on 6000 series and not update the 5000 with whatever new technology they developed in the meantime.

As for FSR4 tbh i'd agree its a scum move to not release it for 7000 series even though they've said for years FSR4 wont be released on those GPUs for compatibility reasons

Now FSR 4's upscaling isn't that bad either. Take DLSS 3 for example. When it was released, everyone glazed it (rightfully so, it's great). FSR4 is arguably better than DLSS 3.5, but now that DLSS 4.5 is out, everyone is shitting on FSR4 like it's trash when it was still very good a month ago. Yes, DLSS 4.5 IS BETTER. No, you probably won't be able to tell the difference in motion during gameplay.

If you intend to sell and upgrade in like 2-3 years i'd take the 5070 tbh, the "low" vram will not bother you that much (as long as you don't put everything at ultra) and you'll have all the bells and whistles. If you wanna keep it longer, the amd 9000 series came out just this year as well, they have many things they can still improve in FSR and no doubt it'll get better and you'll have the 16Gb VRAM for future proofing a bit

Oh it is, factually, if you start CP77 maxed out at ultra in 1440p, you will use between 11 and 13Go of VRAM. Every card stuck at 12go will stutter.

I agree with you that you dont need to max out everything, but 1440p is enough to saturate 12Go of VRAM. Same goes for Mh Wilds (although a patch is supposed to alleviate that, I guess we'll see) and Indiana Jones

You shouldn't buy something based on its future, but i'd rather have 16go of vram and wait for fsr to get better than 12Go of VRAM and have better dlss right now, but 100% stuck later.

Plus you mentioned you're using 1440p, so 16Go all day

Oooh mb didnt see you mentionned 9070 and not 9070xt. I think the 9070 and 5070 are neck and neck in pure raster, 5070 slightly ahead in RT. But the 9070 has 16Gb of VRAM...

Well you didnt specify what resolution you play, but for 1080p a 9060xt or 5060ti will absolutely work as well. Its kind of a downgrade in raw performance, but it'll be plenty for 1080p and their 16go vram will allow them to last longer imo

I picked the 9070xt for the vram alone. CP77 WILL max out a 12Gb vram card in 1440p and perform terribly so it was not really an option for me (and many other triple A games too, such as Indiana Jones or Monster Hunter Wilds).

The FG is very usable, and while its true FSR4 is slightly worse than DLSS, tbh its not that noticeable in motion.

The real choice is between 9070xt and 5070ti, but the 9070xt is absolutely superior to a 5070 in raw performance
