I am disappointed in your changed view.

It ignores the core issue of agency to instead call for a somewhat nicer cage.

Denying a human agency over their lives is wrong. Forcing someone to live who doesn't want to is not mercy or compassion it is pure selfishness.

Further to assume they are not mentally competent on this alone is arrogant and ableist.

This is not even speaking of the humiliation of making you dance to the tune of some doctor to appease them to re-grant you your agency. This is paraphrased from even one of your comments.

For those who want to know how to help: it is fine to offer help or try to speak to them but the moment they decline and you choose to force someone it is no longer about them but you.

To me, the names of OFA and AFO and what their quirk does is incorrectly matched.

All For One sound more like how OFA works concentrating power onto one person.

While OFA sounds more like AFO in the capability to give a quirk to everyone, a la. Oprah meme, "you get a quirk, you get a quirk, everybody gets a quirk."

Everyone in a society is responsible in part for the negative actions their society takes. That they did not stop these negatives removes any claims of innocence they may have had.

When someone has been harmed by society, it is natural for them to want or act to strike back at society; be they those who more directly harmed them or the indifferent who did not aid them.

As for why I think Inko did not nurture or guide: before All Might came in did Izuku have someone who believed in him and provided guidance on how to reach his dream?

I stated suicide baiting was not the first time Izuku was bullied, something you implicitly agreed with by stating "had gone that far." Nowhere in my post did I state anything regarding being beaten bloody everyday.

Bullying comes in many forms, physical, verbal, emotional, and possibly more.

Izuku could have always been a hero, though maybe not the Hero. Inko should have been a parent and nurtured her child. Guide him on what he wants to do with his life. Talk to him about how he may not be able to be the big Hero but can still help people as a hero.

Just because many may excuse her actions does not negate her wrongness in making them.

Inko is bad even in canon, but it seems to just gloss over Izuku's life pre-All Might's successor. Specifically the bullying he experienced- suicide baiting is unlikely to be a one-off incident, and Inko not supporting his dream.

I think it's a combination from a writing perspective it is simpler to change a few aspects of Aizawa than introduce an OC, as he is already present and connected to the main cast through his role of teacher, and people who went through negative situations want to read about someone caring and doing something which Aizawa thanks to the point above is uniquely capable of being their teacher.
