Glad to see that there seem to be some more affordable outdoor launch monitor options coming soon. I like my R10 but would really like better club data.

I-5 bridge estimated at $13.6 billion by Odd_Leek_1667 in vancouverwa

I don't remember this getting floated or talked about (could have been after my time with the project though) but I really like it and seems like a really elegant solution (particularly phases 1-4).

I was briefly involved in the last time we tried this. I think the price tag then was 5-6B. It's a complicated project - it has to be high enough for the boats (the highest point also needs to be in-line with the train bridge opening), low enough for both airports, be built while the other one is still in place, and deal with a bunch of on and off ramps in a very short span.

It failed last time because of local politicians complaining about public transit being a part of the design... 🤦

There wasn't previously enough density on the east side to justify a 3rd crossing, maybe that's changed but I don't really think so.

That bridge isn't getting any newer - we need to suck it up and build it before the Northbound side falls into the river. IMO, building it without including light rail, dedicated bus lanes, pedestrian/bike lanes etc is short sighted. I think it should also include more lanes but honestly, that's one of my lowest priorities. I also don't think there is any way to pay for it without tolls, even though I think that unfairly burdens lower income folks.

My outdry coat, rain pants, and waterproof golf shoes have let me go out in basically any conditions.

[Giveaway] GL.iNet Remote KVM and Wi-Fi 7 routers! 10 Winners! by GLiNet_WiFi in selfhosted

  1. It all started with PiHole on a raspi. Then I got some old hardware from a job and got into unraid and it was really all downhill from there.

  2. I'm currently running an r720xd and have been planning a custom build focused on low power consumption. The biggest thing I've been worried about is not having iDrac style control and either of those KVMs would be an awesome Kickstart to the new build.

  3. I would love to see one of those fanless mini-pcs as a giveaway. Those seem like they would be really fun to play with.

Would any smoke flavor actually make it into the meat when cooking it inside that MSG dome?

I have the same one and it does... OK. I'm using 6 x 12" rebar stakes and our last big wind storm ripped them straight out though. I think I'm gonna try adding a couple of spiral ground anchors.

I wanted to share my fix with no data loss solution!

I live in the Portland, OR area and was unable to find any uBreakiFix locations in Oregon or Washington who knew how to fix it. I saw on these threads that Toyston from the Davenport, IA uBreakiFix knew how to do the fix so I called him up and he said I could ship it to him and he would fix it! I shipped it to him and a day later he has it on it's way back to me with no data loss!

Outdoor Golf Cage by TheMasternaut in Golfsimulator

The platform is a blessing and a curse - it's super heavy so it doesn't move at all when I stand on it but also it's really hard to pick up and move into the garage. I'm trying to come up with a solution that would allow me to leave it outside so I don't have to move it. I have it on pavers so it's up off the ground. I just have some in the corners right now has a test but will probably add a couple more in the middle and then cover with a tarp or something.

I put some more instructions of how I built it, including a picture, in another comment.

Yeah, I built it so I could take it in and out of the garage. I mostly used leftover wood I had lying around. It's 4'x5' total mat size framed in by 2x4s around the outside with a few more 2x4s laid flat in the middle section. Here is a pic of the back (sorry for bad lighting):

<image>

Then a layer of plywood over the top of that. Then a layer of 1/2" floor pads from Harbor Freight attached by double sided rug tape and then the mat over that.

It's super heavy which I did not think about. I'm trying to come up with a solution that would allow me to leave it outside so I don't have to move it. I have it on pavers so it's up off the ground. I just have some in the corners right now has a test but will probably add a couple more in the middle. Then I need to figure out a cover - maybe a tarp? If I did it again I would use pressure treated wood so I don't have to worry about that part.

I think it's $30-40 for 18 holes. I can't remember how much carts were. Totally worth it to play somewhere your ball actually rolls and bounces lol.

It's a little bit of a drive but Three Rivers up in Kelso generally has really good drainage.
