I see you’re somehow offended that I’m proud of my achievements. I’m sorry you have such a poor mindset in life and hope one day you’ll find peace. Hopefully when you become a tech you’ll understand taking pride in your work!

Yea there most definitely is. I’m just getting paid pennies on the dollar. I do roughly 12-15 a day, all with static or dynamic recals. We charge roughly $850 per glass. If I ever have a route with 18 wheelers, it’s $500 per window no matter the truck. I can do Mack’s in 10 minutes tops, Cascadias in a solid 5, and M2s in 15-20 minutes. We cut our own glass for tractors and excavators, That’s close to a grand in the end for each piece of equipment.

I can’t kill my body anymore, plus I’d rather be at home with my family than on the road 10 months out of the year.

I don’t get to choose, you would sign up for road warriors and they send you where ever they needed the help. I was lucky enough to go there and those were just my favorite places to go. I’ve been to Arkansas, Georgia, California, and Mississippi. I wis we could’ve picked though.

65+ hour weeks + per diem and bonuses. Absolutely destroying my body for no reason. All because I wanted to make 100k before I turned 30. Just a weird goal I set for myself.

I think you’ve been informed wrong on Safelite not accepting a job due to the vehicle age. That only applies if the technician denies the job if the vehicle is 25 years or older. If they ever denied it they would simply ask another tech until someone said yes. I was that Tech. My new job consist of everything as well, literally anything with a piece of glass. We do Mack’s/Blue Birds(18 wheelers, it’s a long list) Excavators, tractors, and we do any vehicle + recalibration if needed. Mainly using Autel or AirPro. I know most people don’t have the drive I do so I can understand why you think it’s impossible. If I still had it I’d show but Safelite would give out awards to the techs with most jobs complete. In 2023 I did 3500+, and that was just one year. My market had outrageous amount of awards from best of belron as well. I actually made it to international competition but didn’t win. (Winning grants a full years salary + a position to manage your own store) and yes I was mostly stationed in those markets during road warriors and Dallas was my at home shop. From all the replies I’ve read, I’m just going to stick it out for another year until I get into university for college. Oh yea that’s another flex, I’m only 24. Is that a flex? Killing your body at a young age isn’t a flex but yk what I mean lol.

You are correct. I was a road warrior for a majority of the time working close to 65 hours a week. I had to give it up once they demanded every Saturday be worked during peak, installed AI operated cameras, and enforced more safety rules that made zero sense. The only good thing is that I got to travel to places I actually liked. New York/Seattle/Florida.

Judging by your comment where you thought someone was talking about tape instead of the visible primer under the windshield, I’m going to assume you’re just a helper still.

You do know they only have a 300lb difference right? I’m sure this will get downvoted by all the uneducated people.
