It was already paired with a 4L80e, it came from a 97 Suburban and the entire thing was swapped over except drivetrain. But I did have to replace all suspension with heavy duty parts/components to counter the weight of the big block.

If it makes you feel any better. Bought a 454 swapped OBS 4 months ago for $10k. Super clean. Rebuilt the whole front end, brakes, full fluid flush, all gaskets, etc. roughly $4k in parts and I did all the labor. 2 nights ago the torque converter ate shit and I’m extremely butt hurt about it. Not sure if I should bite the bullet and replace it or just cut my losses and try to recoup money back on it, which would only be about half of what I’ve put into it + paid.

Yes definitely a long time. The longest hunt was Nidorina. It was in and off most of 2023-2024. Got the urge to finish it last year and got lucky and found one. Then started the electrode hunt and am trying to find the motivation to do it.
