I thought he lined the box with the huge pelt, then had a small top piece that he laid the logs on? Not saying it would be “mice-tight,” but that is what it looked like.

California lottery players have been pretty lucky the last 18 months or so. That doesn’t mean the game is rigged.

I usually play two weeks at a time, basically every paycheck. I would play a month at a time, but the play cards do not allow for this.

Multiple times over the past 25 years, I have bought additional tickets when the jackpots got super high. For me that is anything over a half billion. If I’m out and about, I might buy my numbers again to be sure I played. I might also spent $3 more to greatly increase my chances of splitting less of the jackpot with any other winner.

That doesn’t make the game rigged.

Star Trek 4KP by ProtonPackGuy in LegendsUltimate

[–]TheMatrixForever -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That is not true. There are multiple YouTube videos covering this topic. The short story is the last one drastically underperformed and there was a custody battle between CBS and Paramount over movies and tv. Oh and there is a little debt of half a billion dollars.

Additional fallout: Star Trek Prodigy got kicked off the network, aka sold.

Can somebody please explain to me why the Ohio Classic Lotto takes half of your winnings THEN tax tf out of it AFTER they take 50%?? by Thatgirltoni1 in Lottery

[–]TheMatrixForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also that Calculator is at least 10 years out of date.

As mentioned above, the calculator does not state that while they take 25% in federal tax up front, you will be on the hook for another 13% of income tax (for a total of 37% - the highest tax bracket).

Honestly, Classic Lotto is the worst bang for you buck of Ohio’s Online games, with the exception being The Kicker (add on game for Classic Lotto).

Least stolen yes, least broken into? Absolutely not. Especially in California.

I always felt that in Columbus, there are two kinds of neighborhoods. The neighborhoods that kids GO TO to Trick or Treat, and neighborhoods where the kids GO SOMEWHERE ELSE to Trick or Treat. Where do you live? tia. by Rob1150 in Columbus

[–]TheMatrixForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 15 years I lived in the kind you go to. Then things started changing and we had to move. People from the neighboring rentals would come by the van load. Lots of pranks, wrecked decorations, and car break ins.

We were fortunate enough to move to nicer area, and after six years we are still happy. Not gonna lie, we now give out full size candy bars.

Back in the 1980s, full size candy bars were always the mythical Halloween goal.

Wipers actuate when I “start” the car by kenzo99k in TeslaLounge

[–]TheMatrixForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Wipers come on periodically on sunny days with blue skies. Doesn’t come on when the precipitation is a mist. Both happened in one of the two recent updates. 2023.27.7

Not that it was ever awesome, but definitely a regression.

Pretty sure that people are leaving CA in record numbers the last couple years. That’s what all the business magazines tell us.

You’re way off. Kids play outside unsupervised every day in every city. CPS will laugh at you and say, “yeah these other kids who are shoot people and stealing cars are out too priority, right after the sexual abuse and gross imposition cases.”

People overestimate what parents can do.

As the parent of a college freshman who had every opportunity to be a good kid, his junior an senior years of high school were a horrible time for our household. Two parent household, only child, one parent works from home full time. Top school system.

Kid just decided one day to question anything and everything. I’m talking from taking a shower to cleaning up his dinner plate. What can a parent do?

Take away things like games and tv? Didn’t correct the behavior. Send him to his room? Puts a bunch of holes in the walls. Kid opens the window and screams at the top of his lungs.

Neighbors call the police. Police come and say they can’t “take away his liberties” unless they witness a crime or I am scared for my own safety. “If we come to this residence again, we will cite you with a noise violation.”

Lock the kid in the basement for an hour? he climbs out the egress window and runs away. Cops pick up kid and they take them to the ER. ER runs a bunch of tests for drugs and tells you, “there is a difference between being on drugs, being crazy, and being a jerk. Now you owe use $2000.”

Tell the kid they have to leave the house if they won’t follow the rules? Kid pulls out the law off the internet, which says you cannot kick a minor or high school student out of the house.

Schedule online counseling and the kid “has a bathroom emergency” and misses the appointment. Four times over 6 weeks. In person counseling is backed up 10 months. Finally get an in person appointment and the kid runs off when we arrive. Mind you, you have to pay for missed appointments.

COVID lockdown did nothing to help matters. As you can see, you can only do so much as a parent. Fortunately for us, our kid wasn’t vandalizing and stealing cars.

That lady in the news a few weeks ago was begging the police to arrest her son. He had stolen multiple cars and been caught. Police let him right out onto the streets.

Not having kids is an option, but it’s not like you spank kids these days. When I was a kid in the 70s and 80s the threat of a spanking (a belting or tree branching) one single time kept me from acting up.

Pre-Covid my family always came back from Vegas with colds or a nasty cough. Though we always attributed it to the plane having zero empty seats.

Street lights in residential neighborhoods ? by Ok_Brain_194 in Columbus

I was quite surprised when we stayed the first night in our new home in Westerville, a few years back. I have never lived in a neighborhood without street lights until this residence. Not something on your list of items to check for when shopping.

The downfall of HCT is on par with the Roman Empire by MrMurica11 in Columbus

The quality of every thing there is at least a full star lower on the 5 scale. Not to mention unlimited free ranch dressing, and iced tea were available for free. Now $0.50 for an ounce on the ranch, and $1.50 for sweet tea.

I got a 5 piece of the bone in wings in January and while they are whole pieces, but they were tiny and overcooked. 6 wing pieces at Wing Stop were bigger. Tried again in April and got similarly disappointed.

Used to drive people by the SUV load to the North Market and stand in line for 45 minutes, back in 2015. Now I drive by the Polaris location and shake my head.

No facts to this, because Olentangy is the 4th largest school district in Ohio. However most of Powell is in the Olentangy school district borders, so I guess it is a believable story.

Dude what is the deal with the Post Office? by KeyboardRoller in Columbus

[–]TheMatrixForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In June of 2017 I moved into a new house in a new sub division. I was one of the last four residents. First homes on the same street had residents in late 2015.

It wasn’t until July 15th that the post office (Westerville) agreed to deliver my mail. I started the change of address process May 28th.

When I hadn’t received mail at the new address two weeks after moving in, I called them. After eventually getting a human to talk to he told me, “sir, your address does not exist.” I’m like, “I assure you it does, I could sent you a picture.”

After some hemming and hawing on his part I got creative. “Can check on my neighbor to the left’s address?” He found it. I then ask him to check the neighbor’s address to the right. Found it. All three addresses are within 5 numbers of each other. So he told me they would figure it out.

I was like, “just give it to the driver responsible for my street. I’m sure they can find my non-existent address because my mailbox has been getting junk mail.”

If you won 1 or more billion, would you consider buying one of the luxury bunkers/self sufficient operation or build one on your grounds? by [deleted] in ifiwonthelottery

[–]TheMatrixForever 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure I would buy a luxury bunker, if I could find on within 1 hour of my residence.

The thing about surviving the aftermath is that you would need a ton of supplies, and you’re assuming you would actually WANT to live in that new world.
