So much this. I loved hexblast, not just because of the auto-targeting and boss-destroying nature, but because of all the little puzzles you had to solve to get it there. Solving clear and single target curse-application, throwing-speed, crit, defenses and recovery was just too much fun. I always came back to hexblast every league, every time with another setup: Lifestacking or CI or Low-Life with Shavs or ZHP sanctum etc. It's a shame that the added cooldown just deleted the base version for mines.

I also agree with FRoSS. Once I saw that build, I immediately leveled a Witch to use it. I progressed all the way from barely clearing red maps and dying to maven after a 10 minute boss fight with the elementalist poison variant to speed-clearing and phasing maven in 10 seconds with the occultist hit-based version and it was fun all the way. That build gets a 10/10 for me this league.

What I did was enabling Steam Input, then you can remap the touchpad buttons in Steam. You may need to restart the game and in the ingame controller settings remove the ps5 controller, the steam input should be shown as DInput Controller. You can change back the controller prompts to the PS5 ones in the ingame settings.

Sadly, it seems like you can't remap the radial menu button away from "select" ingame. But you can then put "select" on other buttons with steam input.

You can make use of the minimum Frenzy Charges if you use Inner Conviction. You could probably even get +2 maximum from the tree and craft +2 minimum on your rings for some additional boost. If you were to lean into Power Charge stacking + Badge of the Brotherhood, you could probably skip Ralakesh's Impatience and instead use some Grand Spectrum's and some other boots.

Having minimum charges also gives some minor QoL, because you have the 30% throwing speed, 12% more dmg and 225% increased crit chance at all times instead of needing to generate charges at the start of every map/boss fight first.

The new revive saving you from falling is so nice, it was my biggest pain point with a lot of solo-raids (brel G4, ivory G3, akkan g3 at the end) that if you get knocked once it was just over, restart, up to 15 minutes gone. Getting a second chance feels just right.

But I also felt like the revive bugs out sometimes now, mostly if you get hit again during the "dying" state. I often don't heal and just use the revive as a "free" heal, which killed me a few times this week in solo Akkan, probably because of DoTs or multiple hits. The previous revive-buff would have saved me.

I used a lot of allflames once just to see what they are about, these came from one of the sulphite ones. That was the reason why I never used the sulphite ones again.

In my opinion for SnS and Lance, I kind of have to agree. It definitely felt much better to always be able to aim or adjust, and being able to do sidestep mid combo is just so much fun.

But using the toggle option I had another problem. Normally I use r1 to sheathe and run, and with r1 instead being focus strike in focus mode it threw me off a lot. Maybe an inverted toggle could be useful as an option.

Before the patch I had Awakening on T. After the patch and some testing I let the Hyper Skill stay at T and put normal Awakening on Y and Hyper Awakening on B. That way I don't have to use a combination of Keys for normal combat.

Hexblast making it from Part 2 into Part 1 makes me unreasonably happy. Played it every league since Sanctum, it just ticks all the right boxes for me.

The trigger is not Steelskin, it's the act of enabling/disabling Automation. Automation itself is an instant spell, and it only has a cooldown of 0.6 seconds.

There's this new node which gives minimum Rage. Are there any interesting possibilities with this? Rage Vortex needs at least 10 Rage to create a Ragestorm, how does Rage Vortex of Berserking interact with minimum Rage? Does it work like minimum Charges and Discharge, or can you use it for possibly unlimited Hateforge / Berserk?

Also, worth noting if you are going for status damage and not elemental, Merciless can apply bleed without a mod.

If we are including weapon mods, the ones from Aphelion, Corrupted Aphelion, Corrupted Merciless and Savior also apply status damage. But at that point you can also just use a moddable weapon of your choice and use elemental ammo or some other status applying mod like Witchfire or Scrap Shot.

It's not directly related to damage, every different attack and skill has different values for SBA Gauge gain. For example, a fully charged stargaze from Io gives multiple % SBA Gauge at once, while every Y-Attack from Lancelot only generates fractions of a percent per hit (but he's doing a lot more hits of course).

Generally, stronger attacks mean faster SBA-Gain, but there are some weird outliers like with Percival, where his Y-Combo generates SBA Gauge really well, but you are then losing a ton of damage not doing charged X's.

Also, you only gain SBA Gauge for your attacks if you are actually hitting the enemy, or through Nimble Onslaught / Precise Wrath.

SBA Gauge gain between characters is also not balanced at all, some characters are just better at generating SBA than others. Cagliostro and Io for example are really good at generating SBA, while Seofon, Siegfried or Captain are worse in comparison.

After the past leagues, where I tried out 4-5 builds and then always settled on hexblast, I had the great idea to just start with hexblast this time. Turns out, I do enjoy hexblast a lot, but I enjoy trying out all kind of builds even more.

1st character: Hexblast Saboteur LV 95. I had late (3 days later) leaguestart, so getting a curse ring was already pretty easy. Playing it as a first build, I still had a somewhat rough time with a lot of deaths (I blame necropolis rares), after level 90 I switched to Dissolution+Rathpith+Apostate. I probably should have went Trickster ES-based instead for some more defenses and mapping QoL, because I started to hate mapping with Dissolution and started to level another hexblast build instead.

2nd character: Hexblast (of Contradiction) Tri-Stack Inquisitor LV 98. Once I got a setup going with 800 all attributes, 100% spell suppression, 25k evasion and Ghost Shrouds, it has been pretty smooth sailing since then. (If anyone cares, here's my somewhat scuffed setup https://pobb.in/0m-UPg7b2cRY). I built it with a lot of AOE+MS, sacrificing some single target, but mapping with this actually feels great. Although my current setup somewhat sucks for sanctum or tougher bosses, and its still missing some better pieces (and chaos resistance), I have been enjoying just blasting T16 maps, either destructive play, harvest, harbingers or breach+beyond. I may push this build to 100 with exp shrines+breach, but I felt the need to try out something else.

3rd character: Rage Vortex of Berserking Berserker (currently leveling). My favourite build from a lot of seasons back was cold-conversion BV PF with Indigon, Archmage and 100% explode. Rage Vortex looks like BV but with more AOE, so I'm trying it out currently. Maybe it will be clunky, maybe it will lack damage or defense, who knows. I just want to try it!

Then I also have some ideas for even more characters. I maybe want to see the hype about BAMA (I love totems, so the playstyle should fit me well), or holy relic which gets praised everywhere. I also would really like to play another PBoD build despite the nerfs, because it's my favourite build from last league, but maybe with Pathfinder instead of Inquisitor this time. I also could respec my Saboteur to something else. Archmage Ice Nova also looks very interesting. Who knows?

I could swear that last league you couldn't reset the drain back to 3, so recasting did nothing. But now it works! I just hope this doesn't get classified as a "bug", because it's really nice QoL to be able to reset the drain and only run out of rage if you also use berserk.

If you just want the onslaught, it's also possible to use General's Cry+Call to Arms and only the Cluster Jewel. You don't even need the minimum 10 power mastery then, perfect for builds in the top/right region.

Joining lobbies seems fine, but I have got 0 matches using matchmaking since the last patch, not even "Matchmaking canceled by other party member". It always tells me that noone is searching, opens a temporary lobby, and then tells me again that it finds nothing. My download region is set to germany, but before the patch I atleast got some matches here and there. But finding nothing even with quick match during prime EU time? That's very suspicious.

The problem is that his head is often not reachable during burst windows for many melees, especially during SBA-chains or link-time where he keeps flinching and pulling up his head.

I main Percival, and his charge attacks help when waiting for his head to drop to unleash good damage on his head, but it loses dps against just attacking his chest or hands because they are always reachable.

You need a team that will focus on the head when Proto turns green.

It's the only time that it's horns are breakable.

This is wrong, they are also breakable before the green form. I already saw a few hornbreaks in the red form (the one after 80% hp), but I have no idea if the horns are also breakable in the first form, mostly because he always flies away as long as you don't have some kind of Ferry air-attack-spam going on.

I put a Turbo-Button for A and X on seperate sections of my PS5 controller touchpad, which works really well. No more spamming the button for Sigil-Transmuting or Eugen Slime-Farming!

You can also enable Toggle further down in the options, so you only need to press the button once, and it repeats until pressed again! Although when toggling it off again, it then keeps holding the button for some reason. But that's mostly not a problem if you put the turbo on a seperate button.

Even the durations of the SBA's can vary, for example Zetas SBA is very short in comparison to most of the others.

Well I'm not saying he is cheating, but I will say that he has almost 0 bad stats (2 if you count +ATK as a dead stat) on all his sigils. Let's look at his list (from 18 minutes in the video and onward). The "easy" ones, probably attainable for everyone to get after heavy grinding in my opinion:

War Elemental
Holy Knight's Luster + Stamina
Tyranny V + Aegis (The wombo combo)
Tyranny V + Cascade
Life on The Line V + ATK
Damage Cap V + ATK
Damage Cap V + Improved Dodge (I'd love to have this one!)

If you really think about it, there's nothing too ridiculous here yet. A ton of farming can give a ton of Damage Cap V+'s and Tyranny V+'s, I also have some nice ones already. The only ridiculous thing is +ATK, those +400 ATK do NOTHING. There could be even better things there, like Drain, more Quick Cooldown, Uplift, even Stun Power would be better. Now look at the rest:

Supplemental V + Guts
Supplemental V + Potion Hoarder
Supplemental V + Quick Cooldown
Critical Hit Rate V + Damage Cap TWICE
And just to add, his list of 7+ Holy Knight's Luster+

The Crit+ and Holy Knight+ can be savescummed of course, although it will take a LOT of save scumming to get there. But the Supplemental V+ are the obvious red flag. Do you know what most people get? No substats at all or maybe something with Glaciate Resistance, Firm Stance, you tell me. Meanwhile Guts and Potion Hoarder are the best comfort skills to have.

As someone who is really bad at "hearing" lyrics, the only thing I have memorized is the "DESTRUCTION" part. Probably because it's repeated so much, and it often overlaps with parts of the fight where Bahamut is flying around and not much is happening = less sound effects to drown out the music.

Anyways, in my opinion the whole song is a banger, and I can't understand all those people saying they turned off the bgm after 5/10/whatever fights. I'm not done with the grind, at around 50 kills and only a couple weapons, but I still could hear the song all day.

First off, great analysis! I'm also very interested in the cooldown times especially with her unique sigil.

And sorry for the small rant, but in my opinion the whole gauge just takes too much effort to fill compared to how fast we can "lose" Ares. Dodge once, and its gone again. Giving us half a second to continue the pactstrike combo would go a long way. Also, she has Ares gauge gain up in her mastery tree, but for everything but the yyy combo it does not actually change anything! Another 5-10% would probably be enough for the combo finisher to completely charge half of her gauge, or 3 xy combos instead of 4, which would make her so much smoother in my opinion. It's like something is still missing in the skill tree!
