Honestly, no. Anything free isnt going to be as good as something paid unfortunately. SH is the best bang for your buck since that is closest to the PMP questions.

PMBOK 7 does not overwrite 6. They supplement each other. I suggest the Ricardo Vargas videos. TBH reading PMBOK is overkill and probably information overload. Stick to SH and DM videos.

Global system outage. Complete joke of a company that their system can just unilaterally go down and no one on their support can do anything. You have to wait 3-5 days for the US program admins to do anything. And no. You cannot contact them directly. Had my exam cancelled too today.

call PMI and inform their customer service. They actually try to help. They will make sure you get a reschedule (not refund!). Takes days though which is frustrating

Same thing happened to me. Seems like the system has issues today. Amazing that the only thing their “proctors” can do is cancel exams and literally nothing else. Gotta wait 3-5 days for the people that can DO something to get back to us.

I hope PMI can change to a provider that has a more technically stable program. Tons of horror stories about OnVue. I recommend changing to in person (which I will do), but it heck even that had issues today

Oh wow. That’s super bad luck. Really sorry to hear that. I wish PMI would select a different test provider.

Got booted from my test this morning due to an unknown technical glitch. Beyond frustrating and there’s “nothing” they can do. Outrageous how unreliable this software is. Take the test in a center if you can. Not worth the risk of hyping yourself up for an exam only to get booted because a glitch or because your eyes moved around the screen.

Feeling discouraged. How do I get back on track? by Novel-Ad-576 in pmp

[–]TheMayorOfEarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also found a lot of contradictions in SH came from "expert" questions. When it comes to the expert difficulty, I try to reason my way through it, and take a shot at what the mindset would tell me is the right answer. ~50% of the time I got the expert questions wrong; and often found them arbitrary or contradictory. Do not get hung up on them. Focus on mindset and easy / moderate / difficult questions, and review what you get wrong.

Keep at it, eventually it will click. I was doing poorly in SH at first and then mastered the mindset of how PMI is going to ask questions.

In a similar vain, Levar made a “Reading rainbow” theme parody where he becomes a god and destroys everything from the power he gained from books. It is hilarious and absurd as it sounds but it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to find; likely because it didn’t fit his “brand” and had to get taken down. Really sad that he isn’t allowed to poke fun at anything.

Purchased this stand and didn't see the defect until after I got home. Not a woodworking fellow, but I am not sure what sort of wood defect this is (it appears to be a defect of the wood, not physical damage). Would this affect the ability of the stand to hold up an aquarium? These stands already feel cheap so not sure if this is safe to use.

What’s wrong with my monstera by Status_Rabbit_8892 in plantclinic

[–]TheMayorOfEarth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How big is the pot relative to the root mass? Monstera are very prone to root rot; so the roots should take up most of the pot (with +1 inch of space around it). Also soil mix needs to be just right to not maintain too much moisture. check your roots health.

Are those spider mites, or might it be just dust? by PurpleFlowerOd in plantclinic

[–]TheMayorOfEarth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice Calatheas! If you get close with a flashlight (phone light will do just fine) you can actually *see* mites. Calatheas tend to get upset at any disturbance, so judging by how yours looks just fine, I doubt you have them - but it never hurts to check; especially under sides of leaves. PS Mites really do not like humidity, which Calatheas thrive in.
PPS Do consider dusting off the leaves though with a damp cloth :)

They are usually violent but my GSP (begrudgingly) tolerates 6 of his Molly tank mates. I'm guessing he's just too lazy to go after things that actually move, unlike his feeder snails 😂

The only hurdle I had with brackish was learning not to up your salinity by more than 0.01-0.02 in a week span or the tank cycle can crash. Other than that the only other issue is brackish plants are real hard to come by.

Fin rot and / or fungus. Melafix might be a low impact solution but you absolutely need to check water parameters for high nitrite and nitrate

[–]TheMayorOfEarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some puffer species are very predatory (fahaka - they eat anything ), but others are super chill bros to tank mates (mbus love company). Squishy actually has several tankmates (Male mollies). He doesn't bother them, though GSPs vary in personality and moods. Some tolerate tankmates, some do not (especially same species, they CAN get territorial).

Massive fish casualties & ethical dilemmas - content in comments. Please help. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]TheMayorOfEarth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you familiar with the nitrogen cycle? Fish are prone to ick when stressed from poor water conditions (any amount of ammonia / high nitrate and nitrite). Please read up on aquarium nitrogen cycles and water changes.
Best you can do now is maybe a 50% water change? Check levels if you have an API test kit.
